Personal Reflection on Communication Competence Assessment When completing the competency survey from the text I figured that my score would produce a higher outcome than it actually did. My score of 70 proved to me that I can improve my communication skills. This assessment showed my weaknesses and my strengths. The scored explanation from the text stated that I am competent at times but I am sometimes uncertain or unsure of what to say or do when communicating with others( (O'Hair, Wieman, Imrich Mullin, & Teven, 2015). This part of the assessment is spot on for me, and I agree with this statement based on my prior experiences with various situations throughout my life. The next part of the explanation; sometimes you care more about being
In this course, we learned about the importance of communication what the process is involved to effectively get your point across whether it be to co-worker or on general. Add this to a business setting poor communication can cause the company to lose money, and waste of time from their employees add poor listening skill you have a disaster in the making. After taking the self-assessment test on communication scored 50, which translate of to me capable communicator, but sometimes experience communication problems. The test says I should take the time to think about my approach to communication, along with focusing on receiving messages effectively, as much as sending them. I could not agree more, always had issues commutations my thoughts properly. However, this is more seen in writing skills then speaking or conversation. Thought the score would have been lower but 50 is more on the higher scale, ever taking the test another day scored about the same. This is going
From the Communicative Competence Scale given, I have learned how much comfortable I am communicating with those in my surroundings. I have been communicating with various groups of people due to the experience from my job as I am a current Lot Associate at the Home Depot as my job consists of helping and communicating with customers if any assistance that they need for them to make their trip easier. Before, I use to have my arms or legs shaking whenever I have to present or when I am around others who I am not acquainted to, but I was gradually able to feel more relax as I present myself toward others no matter what environment I am in.

As a part of my assignment to identify the styles and different skills of communication by studying Brian Krzanich actions and behaviour. Next part is to perform a critical analysis on the identified communication styles and skills by comparing and contrasting strength, weakness of a selected person.
We are at the beginning of week six of training and there is one goal I have set to achieve by week eight. This goal is communication, more precisely the way I speak. When I am nervous my tone tends to rise and fall abruptly or when I am thinking of what to say I tend to use filler words and I would sort of click my tongue. To improve upon my communication skills I will step out of my comfort zone and speak to people I am unfamiliar with, such as people on the light rail which I take daily. I will also think through what I want to say to minimize filler words and other bad

I have also demonstrated my interpersonal skills well while presenting role plays in class such as engaging with the audience while I was showing my role plays by using eye contact while I was performing however I did not use hand gestures like I did in my presentation.
My objective for this course was to improve on my writing and communications skills. For instance, when it comes to writing I find that I have an incorrect verb tense, and I often tend to make a lot descriptive phrase errors. However, like I have stated earlier in this course is that I learned to take on criticism from others, by doing, so I improved in all areas of communications.

"The power of vision is the starting point. Once you have established your goal, you need to develop your communication skills so that you can share your vision with the rest of the world and create something unique," Tips on starting your own winning business. (2011, March 9). This statement is true. I consider my communication skill good to excellent. As the daughter of two school teachers I have an excellent command of the English language and they taught me how to present myself in such a way to adapt to my audience and have a confidence in my words. These traits have allowed me to be successful in a number of various professions, but I find my ability to communicate with
When I started to look at more detailed information about the Devil I focused on aspects such as its cancer and its distribution because I already had the knowledge of conservation I could go straight into the more detailed aspects and understand and analyse it. Listening is a vital element of communication and it is very much different from hearing sense of human. A meaningful communication requires both a good listener and a speaker. However, the effect of a listening style may vary depending on the occasions and situations a listener is in. Sometimes, speaker exhibit ineffective style such as defensiveness, ambushing, pseudo-listening, stage hogging and selective listening in their communication tracks.
Notoriously, I am never been one to shy away from communication. It does not matter whether it is an unfamiliar face or a longtime acquaintance. In any given situation, I am always eager to share my ideas, my opinions, my views, and jokes with everyone around me. Occasionally my eagerness hits me way too hard and I find my words jumbled and making little sense, but I just take a deep breath and try again. My friends always describe me as animated when I talk, especially considering that I love to talk with my hands. Whenever I communicate, my body moves along with the words I say and it is nearly impossible for me to be still. Other than the interactions I have daily with others, I have little professional public speaking experience. Many of

Given that the four surveys determine an individual’s skill/motivation to take charge and the ability to manage subordinates, based on their level of communication. I believe that the survey’s outcomes were favorable and accurate in my case. Considering statements such as “I’m optimistic about life, and I can see beyond temporary setbacks and problems” and “I think that personal feelings shouldn 't be allowed to get in the way of performance and productivity” are some of my main ideologies that I apply. For example, I worked at a computer repair shop and working in a setting where team collaboration was a major aspect of the job. Each member of the team had a certain job to fulfill and in some cases, I had to work on my own and other team members repairs. Initially, it was difficult to handle but as time went on I kept a positive attitude regardless of the circumstances and didn’t let my personal feelings interfere with the quality of my work and ability to communicate with coworkers. At my work, we rely on clear and concise communication because the liability of the product and reputation of the store is massively reliant on the work we provide as a team. Furthermore, my strengths also include the ability to perceive feedback as a learning experience and to further improve on the feedback I ask for examples to completely understand the issue and try to improve on that. This heavily applies to my work due to customers/coworkers feedback being the
