Effective communication is the glue that helps you deepen your connections to others and improve teamwork, decision making, and problem solving. It enables you to communicate even negative or difficult messages without creating conflict or destroying trust. Intrapersonal: Intrapersonal communication can be defined as a communication with one’s self, and that may include self-talk, acts of imagination and visualization, and even recall and memory. (Saylor, n.a.). Self-talk is that inner running dialogue you have with yourself. It is what you tell yourself about life 's situations. You are what you tell yourself, that you are; and you are what you think you are. “If you think you can do a thing or think you can 't do a thing, you 're right.” (Ford, n.a.). In my own experience, what we think about a situation, how we define ourselves, in our internal communication will decide our lives, and how well we will perform in our lives. It wasn’t until I applied a positive self-talk in my own life that certain things have changed for the better, and I strive to be aware of my thinking habits ever since.
