Before details are covered on the advantages and disadvantages of utilizing public health policy level intervention, Discussion on what organizational and community level interventions will take place.
Organizational change is an integral component of a comprehensive ecologic approach to health behavior change that emphasizes how individual decisions and behaviors are influenced by the multiple layers of systems within which individuals are embedded (NCBI, 2001). Community-level change can reduce the numerous social, structural, and environmental stressors that affect health but that are beyond the ability of any one person to control or change (e.g., poverty, discrimination, income inequalities, crime, inadequate housing).
Interventions can
Think about the implementation strategy and/or intervention method your group selected for your community program project.
The primary prevention topic of this community healthy and population field experience is related to the Healthy People 2020 goal to “reduce substance abuse to protect the health, safety, and quality of life for all, especially children.” (Healthy People 2020, 2018). This topic correlates with the Roanoke Valley’s increase in fatal drug overdoses and the public health emergency that was declared by the Virginia state health commissioner in 2016, related to the opioid addiction crisis (Virginia Department of Health, 2016). While all members of the community are affected by this health concern, the primary focus of this assessment will be on the effects of and prevention of substance abuse within the areas youth.
For this paper, Ms. Minister Melishia Bansa MPH was interviewed. She is a thirty year old African-American woman. Her occupation is the director of community outreach and provider Relations for “Coordination of Health Care for Complex Kids” (CHECK) Program and Project Coordinator of “Promoting Adolescent Health” (PATH) Study. She was interviewed about her work with the CHECK Program. The Coordination of Health Care for Complex Kids program aims to improve overall health and quality of life for underserved populations. This programs aims to fight the social injustice of unequal health systems for low socioeconomic communities. The CHECK program aims to increase doctor appointments and improve communication between the patient and the patient’s health provider. However, the program is focusing on young individuals with chronic illnesses within low socioeconomic communities.
The social ecological framework comprises of person-focused and environment-focused interventions designed to promote health. The social ecological framework can be used as an ideal tool for addressing a broad range of public health issues and implementing new health promotion programs due to its wide scope of integrating behavioral and environmental changes. This means that people need to realise that most of the policies that affect health are not concerns for the health agencies. Health is a responsibility for each sector of government. The second strategy is to create supportive environments. This is so people have the opportunity to realise that they are in fact healthy individuals. Supportive environments are important because social, physical, environmental and economic factors contribute to people’s health experiences.
In the Euthyphro, Euthyphro himself gives three proposals of piety. First, the pious is to prosecute the wrongdoer and the impious is not to prosecute the wrongdoer. Socrates disputes this example as lacking generality. He believed that in order to define piety, one had to find the form that made all pious acts pious. An example of a pious act does not in turn define piety. Euthyphro’s second attempt stated that the pious is loved by the gods, while the impious was hated by them. Again, Socrates objects, saying that although it passed the generality requirement, there was no conformity among the objects dear to the gods. After all, the gods had different opinions as did humans. Euthyphro then
There exist some limitations. According to the authors, the study was on a provincial level, and not so much on the regional, community, and municipals levels. This is seen as an issue, because it contained only social determinants of health that require a multi-sector change at the provincial level. Next, the intervention ONLY looked at initiatives like healthy eating and physical, without identifying social programs in sectors like housing. Last, the intervention was not an entirely successful one, because “it did not document attempt to document whether the searched initiatives achieved desired outcomes related to the social determinants of health; such results require many years to manifest themselves” (p.12). United States can learn that having insufficient healthcare for some people can become a greater problem which is associated with costs, time, and the government bureaucracy still faces challenges when it comes to healthcare in the United
The therapist will engage with developing the treatment plan. Each family member will participate and agree to the content in order to make it a collaborative effort and a family intervention. The plan will consist of three goals and two-three interventions based on Bowen family theory. The therapy will consist of twelve sessions and will meet weekly, in which Rosalyn and Carl will attend each session, while the children will attend three – twelve. If necessary, the therapist will assess the need to incorporate more private parent time.

EBIs to reduce disruptive behavior and increase academic achievement can include trainings and implementation support at the school, class-wide, and individual student-level, and are often either academic or behavioral in nature. Overall, implementation of both universal (i.e. class-wide) and targeted (i.e. student-level) interventions have demonstrated positive impacts on decreasing disruptive behaviors and increasing student academic achievement (Flower, McKenna, Bunuan, Muething, & Vega, 2014; Vannest, Davis, Davis, Mason, & Burke, 2010).Ross, Romer, and Horner (2012) also found that teachers in schools implementing Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports with high fidelity

In public health, as in many fields there are a set of conundrums that practitioners, leaders and law makers have to address in order to provide the most appropriate service to their populations. One of these conundrums is the battle between what is good for the community vs. what is good for the individual. This topic will be broken up to the community vs. the individual, and discussed based on research done by Kass et al, and Oriola, and will be concluded by presenting possible solutions.
However, most of these interventions are on short term basis for changing the attitude of the community, will benefit people for a long term as they lead them to a proper channel based on their situation. The outcomes can be evaluated on follow-up sessions after the initial assessment. People with high risk for coronary heart diseases will refer for more assessment and as they are in contact with the health professional, they will have more access to related educations. Local news channels and local medias will be encouraged to offer more education related to the issue as pert of their health programs. Churches, community centers, and schools will be encouraged to offer group exercise or peer support sessions by the help of volunteer in order to expose the community to more information and
Men of Athens, you accuse me of corrupting the youth of Athens, but I must combat this accusation. The fact that this trial is being held is preposterous and honestly a waste of time and focus for Athens. Before you can accuse me of corrupting the the youth, you must first ask yourself who really positively influences the youth in society? It certainly cannot be the laws because the laws are not a person rather a thing...correct? So It must be all the councilors and members of the assembly that improve the youth. If all of these men here today have an influence on the youth, then it is rather absurd to assume that I alone am the sole corrupter.
This proposed public health intervention is based on the conceptual framework developed by QUT and the AIHW, which considers the downstream, midstream and upstream determinants of health (Draper et al., 2004).
