“I have lived most of my life surrounded by my enemies, I will be grateful to die among my friends,” (Guardians of the Galaxy). Gamora exclaims this to her worried friends as they are about to battle against Ronen. When she makes this statement it sets the overall theme of companionship. Companionship is the good feeling you get when you are with someone else (Companionship). It is having someone by your side that makes you feel cared for. Family, friends, and lovers are people who promote the feeling of companionship. They are by your side when you need them and they help you in your struggles. In the movie “Guardians of the Galaxy” companionship is shown through expressions and actions of the characters, soundtrack, and the repetition of the importance of family.
First of all, the movie “Guardians of the Galaxy” is a film about a group of unique characters who take on a villain, and save their galaxy. The main character Peter Quill, who goes by the name Star-lord, was abducted as a child, and taken into a new galaxy. He is raised by a bandit, named Yondu,

In the beginning of the movie Gamora is being attacked by Drax. He is about to kill Gamora when Star-lord stops him by offering him an idea to seek revenge through someone else. After saving Gamora, Star-lord stats to her that he could care less whether she lives or whether she dies (Guardians of the Galaxy). Later on into the movie Gamora is facing a life or death situation after being released into outer space without any protection. Star-lord risks his own life, by releasing himself into outer space, to save her. He could not help just seeing her die in front of him. Therefore he had a change in heart towards her after sharing some time together. He found something inside of him that could not let her die. He fell in love with her and wants her to be by his side, which encompasses
“Family like branches on a tree, we all grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one.” Maria Bastida was basically saying that family is always going to be there for each other. In this short story a young girl named Cecilia learns how important her family is. Cecilia really wanted to go on her first class trip, but instead she has to go watch her grandmother because she just got out of surgery. In Carol Shaw Graham’s short story “To Sleep Under the Stars,” the family relationship is the most vital kind of intimate relationship across all of humanity.
Family will be there for you when no one else is. Friends will be there when family is away. If you have many friends and keep your family close, your life will be much better. An example of family and friends would be in the book, “Of Mice and Men”. George and Lenny were friends and went everywhere together. No matter who talked down to Lenny, George was always there to comfort him and stand up for him. This is why having friends is a good thing and makes your life much better. Another example would be in the book, “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks”. After Henrietta’s cells were taken, and her family got mad and started disliking the science community, her whole family kind of grouped together and hated the science community as a group. They stuck together and were there for each other after that. They became closer, and shared their feelings and opinions, while bonding and helping one another out. This shows that family is there for you when no one else may
Sampson, George, and Rameck could have easily followed their childhood friends into drug dealing, gangs, and prison. Like their peers, they came from poor, single parent homes in urban neighborhoods where survival, not scholastic success, has the priority. When the three boys met in a magnet high school in Newark they recognized each other as kindred spirits that wanted to overcome the incredible odds against them and reach for opportunity. They made a friendship pact, deciding together to take on the biggest challenge of their lives: attending college and then medical and dental schools. Along the way they made mistakes and faced disappointments.
According to the Oxford University Press, companionship is defined as, “friendship, fellowship, closeness, togetherness, amity, intimacy, rapport, camaraderie, brotherhood, sisterhood; company, society, social contact.” All these words form the idea of two people spending their time and life together. The idea of companionship is a necessity in life, because all different types of people and creations rely on the company of others. Without the company of others, people no longer act as they should in society. They no longer learn new things and they become outcasts. In the book, Frankenstein, the creature lives his life without a companion and the outcome is tragic. Companionship is a necessity in life, because living without a companion
Look around at your close friends. You stick together just like a family. Your friends support and know you. Like a family, friends know each other, like each other, and relate to each other. In The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton, my theme, friends are family, is very present. S.E. Hinton shows that Friends are family like when the greasers stick together because they really know each other and don’t really have family. The theme at the beginning is friends are family.
Respect: Respect allows us to progress as a family and builds bonds that are meant for life
Addressing the family and friends thematic cluster, four authors conclude the importance of personal relationships. Though varied in their theses, tones, and styles, each article stresses that individuals quality of life can be positively affected by taking time for companions and relatives. Nancy Gibbs, writer of “The Magic of a Family Meal,” beautifully illustrates the benefits of eating with loved ones often, while “The Company Man” by Ellen Goodman demonstrates the negative effects of making one’s profession a priority over one’s personal life and relationships. Marion Winik in “What Are Friends For?” details the variety and opportunities one has to make friends throughout life. Best friends can persevere through hardships and distance as written in “Friends Forever” by Barbara Hagen. Analyzing these articles substantiated that family and friends are essential to a happy life.
It is even crazier when one can love that special person even more, after they pass away. Nonetheless, that is not what it is called true love. The truest love of all is the one that remains the same by death, the one that is left unchanged. The narrator devoted his whole life to his woman, even in death. That is true love, when it is certain that there is love and it is a realization that both lovers could never live without each other. This goes hand in hand with the narrator, as he finds it difficult and almost impossible to part with the love of his life. He believes that without her, he finds no purpose in life. She does pass away, but that doesn’t stop him from being with her one bit. Death is the ultimate barrier, in this poem.
Friendship is like a blossoming sprout in spring. At first it is dainty and fragile but as it cultivates into an elegant flower, it grows more and more robust. Sometimes the biting winds of hate and deceit can knock the blooming flower down-- but that is not the case in Guardians of the Galaxy (2014). This intricate storyline follows Peter Quill (Chris Pratt) and the estranged band of aliens-- later known as the Guardians of the Galaxy. When one watches this motion picture, it can be substantiated that friendship can be unearthed in the most unlikely niches, with the most unlikely inhabitants, and in the most unlikely manners.
The minute the individual found out about their friend’s death, they started to crash and burn, tearing themselves apart, blaming themselves, saying that it’s their fault that they couldn’t save you since they didn’t know. Their mental and physical state started to deplete and they’ve become accustomed to the numbness that has spread throughout their body. They start to eat unhealthily and just stop working out all together. Minor health problems start to invade their system, they get sick more easily than before and just wait until it surpases. It gets to the point where they’ve been dealing with so much numbing pain that they, themselves, start to contemplate the same thoughts their friend was thinking years back. They have the mindset that, they’ll be reunited with their best friend if they were to meet the same fate. Eventually, they will, but they’re thinking about meeting that fate sooner rather than later. But they don’t want to really do this, they want to get better, but the rut they’ve created is so coarse and rugged that it’ll be difficult to fix those problems.
Today in our lives, we are surrounded by many people. Some of these people we are surrounded by are either people we do not care for, or they are the people that we cannot spend enough time with. These people we enjoy the most of, are either our family or our closest friends. You may think that friends and family are just a like, but they do differ from each other, and without either of them our life would feel incomplete.
People with whom we share mutual love and trust are willing to resolve conflicts that do not in the long term mean too much.
If companionship is inevitable, there must be a purpose for it. In Paradise Lost, companionship was necessary in several situations. In the very beginning of novel, companionship was necessary in order to fight against each other. God and his angels fought against Satan and his disobedient angels. Also, Satan and his army met God’s army later on when they went to war. Companionship was necessary in both of these situations because it provided support to either side. If one side had companionship and the other side did not, the side lacking companionship would lose. This was
Guardians of the Galaxy is a sci-fi superhero movie with explosions, romance, and comedy. The story begins with Starlord (Chris Pratt) traveling to ruins to steal items. In this world, to live a life, everybody needs someone to always be there by their side. It is not possible to stay alone and be happy at the same time. We can lower our pain by sharing it, or increase our happiness if we can share our happiness with others. People stand with us, share our feelings, bond with us and become a part of our life. We can’t imagine the life without the people who matter the most to us. Some we meet with the needs, some meet with destiny and some stays from the very first day of our life. These connections and commitment of being there make relationships. There is different steps, ways and views of every relation. Trust, love and respect are three different ways to show the importance of our relationship.
