ii. Alex always plans way ahead, whereas Ludo’s behavior like reminding his daughter over the phone to do the homework is a sign of impulse. iii. Alex has always targeted a high level of success and be in Leadership position through purposeful planning and persistence. However, Ludo has no such goals of getting promotions. 3. Neuroticism: Alex and Ludo both share some degree of neuroticism since they had shown reactions during the work situations. However, Alex gets a high score on neuroticism, whereas Ludo gets a low score because Alex had been consistently reacting while dealing with different operational situations, whereas Ludo knows how to control his emotions by remembering the 2001 attack. One of the examples of Alex’s behavior is pulling off the Project from Betsy Garrison, Senior sales analyst without understanding her perspective. On the other hand, Ludo had calmly dealt the situation like security breach by launching the standard security procedures and sealing the terminal. 4. Extraversion: Alex consistently shares his feelings with the Neighbor. Moreover, one of his colleagues had also given the feedback that Alex is more relaxed socially. Hence, Alex would get a moderate score on Extraversion as he exhibits the social behavior conditionally. On the other hand, Ludo gets a high score on Extraversion based on the following facts: i. Ludo genuinely likes other people and always demonstrate his positive feelings for
The Big Five personality test is currently the most accepted personality model within the scientific community. In the 1950s, it emerged from the work of multiple different researchers who all obtained similar results when studying personality through each of their own methods. My results, which are based on the personality traits highlighted within the Big Five personality test, are as follows: my extroversion results were moderately high. This results suggests that, at times, I tend to be overly talkative, outgoing, sociable. My orderliness results showed to be moderately high as well. This suggests that I tend to be an organized, neat, and structured person throughout my daily life. My emotional stability results were low. This suggests that I tend to worry too often. According to my results, I tend to be overly insecure, emotional and anxious. My accommodation results were moderately low. This suggests that, at times, I can be overly selfish, uncooperative and difficult to work with, especially in groups.
After taking the Big Five Personality Assessment, I was able to decode certain aspects of my personality and analyze whether different strengths and weaknesses. One strength I found was me openness to experience. Being open to others and their ideas has broadened my horizons. I have found that I have so much to learn from others. Whether their ideas are positive or negative, they provide feedback which overall has increased my communication skills. This is a recent strength for me. With prior companies, change was delivered as bad news, we were not taught to work with our peers but rather compete. With my new company I am experiencing the opposite side of the spectrum. I am encouraged to communicate with anyone needed, regardless of
Personality theories, or models, are metaphors for describing something which is intrinsically indescribable, the human personality. Currently, one of the most popular approaches among psychologists for studying personality theory is the Five-Factor Model (FFM) or Big Five dimensions of personality. This essay will explore the 'Big Five ' personality constructs and seek to explain how useful they are to understanding how people are likely to perform in a work situation. In conclusion, this essay will also discuss some of the arguments against the relevance and accuracy of personality testing within the employment context.
One main goal of psychology has been established a model to describe and understand human personality. The five-factor model of personality is the most widely used model in describing personality types. The components of the Big Five are extraversion, openness, agreeableness, conscientiousness, and neuroticism.

P.’s agreeableness scale score is low (35). Her trust scale score is very low (32). She tends to be skeptical and to assume that others may be dishonest. P.’s straightforwardness is also very low with a scale score of 30. Those two facets seem related. Because P. see others as untrustworthy she is more guarded in expressing her true feelings and can play with the truth as a mean of protection. Another facet that can be impacted by trust is altruism. P.’s scale core is low (35), which makes her more self-centered. Her scale score on compliance (46), modesty (50), and tender-mindedness (49) are average. Overall, her interpersonal tendencies are to be skeptical of other’s intentions. She considers herself realist, making rational decisions based on cold logic rather than feelings. She will fight for her own interests more than for those of others.
In taking the Big Five Personality Test, I find the results to be consistent with my personality. According to the results, I am a conventional and down to earth person that is very well-organized and can be relied upon. Furthermore, I am a nervous and quiet person with the tendency to be mean and rude to others. These findings are pretty accurate because I know for a fact that I am a very well-organized person with no intention of being center of attention in a room full of people. Furthermore, my friends are always telling me that I am rude and harsh on certain things. Finally, I prefer to see things realistically rather than using my imagination and being creative.
Of the Big Five personality traits, I scored highest on neuroticism. I compared myself to my friend. My friend scored highest on extraversion. I scored lowest on extraversion, whereas my friend scored lowest on agreeableness. I was somewhat surprised at my results that my friend received. However, I was not surprised by my results. I am a typically anxious person, so I knew I would probably score high on neuroticism. However, I thought my friend would score higher on agreeableness. I don’t agree with some of these because I believe that my friend falls a little higher on the agreeableness, while I believe we both fall a little higher on the openness scale. I also believe there is more to a person’s personality than that.
* Extraversion- Wilson strives hard to create positive culture by interacting with employees and respect their feedback. Further individual achievements
In 1990, J.M. Digman advanced his five factor model of personality, which Lewis Goldberg extended to the highest level of organization.[13] These five overarching domains have been found to contain and subsume most known personality traits and are assumed to represent the basic structure behind all personality traits.[14] These five factors provide a rich conceptual framework for integrating all the research findings and theory in personality psychology. The Big Five traits are also referred to as the "Five Factor Model" or FFM,[1] and as the Global Factors of personality.[15]
This paper will go over the founders of assessing personality, how it changes over time, and how the theories of personality have changed. It will also include the main trait theories and what it means when you assess your personality
The three that I found to be out of order where the three scales that scored in the middle. My openness to experience, conscientiousness, and extroversion scores seemed to be mixed
Extraverted people are friendly, talk more in social situations, and are fueled by being around other people (Dziak, 2017). When someone is in charge of something, they should also be passionate about it. If the leader does not care why should anybody else? Most leaders are energetic and sociable.
High scores in extraversion correlate to talkative, bold, spontaneous, impulsive and energetic behaviour (McCabe & Fleeson 2012)
This experiment looks to see how the big five personality traits are linked to these two types of people. These characteristics are prosocial behaviours although likability is more prosocial than popularity, considering popularity is more domineering than likability. This experiment has two aims, the first, which is more close to the topic being discussed, is to discover the relationship between personality and social status. The second is the relationship between the presumed higher-order construct of personality and social status. It is hypothesised that extraversion was linked to likeability and popularity but agreeableness is related to likeability. In the experiment 512 third year students were used from 22 different junior high schools in the Nederland’s, with a mean age of 14 and 10 months (SD=7months). Quick Big Five (Vermulst & Gerris, 2005) was used to measure personality. It consists of 30 adjectives that reflect the five traits. The participants rated themselves from 1-7 on how they thought the words reflected themselves. The popularity and likeability was measured by peer reviews of each other. The results of this came out with extraversion, agreeableness, emotional stability being linked to likability and extraversion being linked to popularity. These personality traits are therefore linked to prosocial behaviour. Researchers discussed that popularity and likability are different and have different personality traits. Limitations of this study would be that it is only one study and more needs to be done to experiment this data. Also, bias could have taken place with the accumulation of the
