Channel Orange Vs Blonde Frank Ocean is a extremely talented and successful musician, well known for his idiosyncratic style of music. In 2012 he released his debut album, Channel Orange which received critical acclaim and amassed a strong cult like following, establishing Frank Ocean as a musical icon and innovator in his field. Four years later, to much anticipation, Frank released his sophomore album, Blonde. With an almost insurmountable hype, Blonde somehow managed to live up to its high expectations, debuting at number one on the billboards as the third largest debut in 2016. As is typical in these situations, it is tempting to compare the two albums on basis of quality. While both albums have been a major success, there is still the underlying question; The elephant in the room if …show more content…
Channel Orange is a more simplistic, easy listening album in comparison to the blatantly artistic and complex approach of Blonde. That’s not to say that Channel Orange is not a complex album, which it most certainly is. It is no comparison however, to the dense, multilayered artistry seen in Blonde. Rich in metaphors, symbolism, allusions, complex emotions, and descriptive imagery; Blonde is an album that must be listened to several times to be fully appreciated and understood. It’s sound is very experimental with lo-if, grungy instrumentation, distorted synth, and frequent dissonance. Channel Orange in contrast is much more melodic. With lush instrumentation, maximalist orchestra, and beat driven melody; it is generally more palatable to the proletariat or first time listener. Another distinctive characteristic in channel orange is its variety in musical style from song to song. From electro-funk to pop-soul to jazz, Channel Orange encompasses many different genres of music. Blonde on the other hand, is less eclectic and more stylistically focused than its
Direct impressions of people have a greater influence instead of past record. In complex systems, minor factors which can usually be ignored will sometimes cause major incidents. So that, don't study past successes and stars and just try to replicate. In this case, people need to study the intrinsic quality of songs and popularity when ppl separated vs when knowing popularity, it would lead completely different results.
When it comes to the true Colors Personality Test, I am the color orange which is associated with activity and excitement. One strength I have that is part of the orange personality is that I am fun- loving and I enjoy life. For example, whenever I am doing something it doesn't matter if it`s fun or boring, exciting or sad it doesn't matter I will make the best out of it because I know at any moment I might not have that chance or choice again. This is a strength because it allows me to enjoy life and to value even the littlest things. A second orange strength that I possess is being carefree. This is a strength makes me relax and go with the flow. For example whenever I go out with family or friends I always use this strength because
With the release of the single “Accidental Racist,” by Brad Paisley and LL Cool J, the lines between rap music and country music officially blurred beyond recognition. Fans of country and rap music downloaded and purchased the single to see how two completely different genres would blend. Billboard statistics show that most fans appreciated Paisley and Smith’s efforts. Yet hardcore country and hip-hop fans insist that the genres are so different on the musical spectrum that no similarities could ever exist. However, current popular music is proving this to be untrue to a certain extent. While rap and country music have many similarities, they differ in terms of lyrical content, use of musical elements, and target audience.
Velma Von Tussle the wife of WZZRT owner Arvin Hogepille, boasts the largest blonde hair in the movie. And with her character being one of the most “white” and racist, it would only make sense. Tracy Tumblad starts the film with light hair, when she joins the Corny Collins show she receives a half blonde half brunette do, which looks black and white when see on the television. By the end of the film Tracy’s hair is straight black, she has completely overcome racism and it shows with her change in hair color. She closes with a great summary of the ideas she discussed in the article and is a nice summary of her ideas on Waters vision for Hairspray.
The two genres can also be very different, using different levels of aggression and portraying messages differently. Since over the years music has developed now
An artist's sophomore album is considered the "make or break" project. Three scenarios can happen after the artist drops his or her second album- the artist's career ends, the artist becomes just an average entertainer, or the artist takes his or her career into the superstar level.
Frank Ocean viewed this as a problem and came into the game strong by mixing both and creating a new type of vibe. This shows that as a creative genius, Frank Ocean can approach challenges with a creative mindset. His ability to blend or mix genres and push artistic boundaries shows that he has the resourcefulness required to tackle difficult issues facing our nation. Whether it’s addressing economic inequalities, climate issues, racism, sexism, women’s rights, or even a TikTok ban, he represents in his music alone that he
So, even though both bands were inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame, there were still differences between the two
These enthusiasts refer to both members of the group as “‘king(s)’” of the music industry and insist that their music, “‘will never be defeated,’” (cite). Possessing a swarm of mindlessly-loyal fans is the first step in climbing to the top of the music industry; as can be seen with artists such as: Beyonce, Rihanna, and One Direction. The two rockers seem inseparable, unlike groups such as One Direction, confirming that both are focused on making music “to the last syllable of recorded time” (cite). Longevity is a crucial component in the music industry.
In the end, these two songs were definitely hits, which leads to the last point,
to music critics Jackson’s album Thriller seemed to be inspired by “a mixture of several genres
The two also share similar fan bases- mostly teen girls in the 15-21age range. However, the fanbases battle all the time about which artist has more talent. The two never really declared any hate for each other, but the fanbases are determined to somehow prove that one is more talented than the other. Again, the two artists are extremely similar, so it seems a little ridiculous to bicker over which one is better, but if you try telling that to the fanbases, you’ll get a strong reaction.
The beginning of Pink Floyd was something Britain had never seen, and really shined light on this band. Of course, they did not invent psychedelic rock by any means but did begin their own twist within this genre. There was several bands in the US that had played this genre before Pink Floyd in the late 1960’s. Their first official non-live album was Piper at the Gates of Dawn, which Britain considers this album a prime example of psychedelic rock. On August 4, 1967 this album was released. The album showed avant music, such as whimsical rock all the way to melancholic rock. Pink Floyd was not loyal to one specific genre, but ventured out beyond

When she goes to her friend for advice it goes back to its natural orange and teal. At the end she fights with the husband where blue in the shadows become dominant as she kills the
What if I told you something so simple and quotidian was actually complex and completely riveting. To most people orange is just an occurrence between the red and yellow spectrum. Maybe an orange is what you have in a bowl on your kitchen counter, patiently waiting to be picked as a snack. Orange is not so simple or mundane as many may believe. At a very young age I despised orange, the color as well as the fruit. The color reminded me of an unfavorable rusty wrench. The fruit itself was lumpy and bravely bold, exhibiting an unconfident standoff with my taste buds. This outlook is no longer true, yet now I truly believe orange is a beautiful color as well as a delicious fruit. Orange is unique, symbolic, and full of history.
