City life vs. Country life People say home is where the heart is, but what is home? For some, home is a place where they can sit on the front porch and drink sweet tea, while others see home as the place where they were raised. For me, home is where I have the most cherished memories. After living in the city and the country, I have come to the conclusion that life in the country is where my heart is. My lifestyle in the country consisted of similarities and differences than what it did in the city. What draws me more to country is the ability to enjoy the outdoor space, the quality time spent celebrating with family and friends, and learning the important life skills of scheduling your responsibilities wisely. There was a sufficient amount of room for everyone to fit comfortably without feeling crowded. While the adults talked and spent time together, the children would run around outside, swim in the pool, and play a variety of outdoor games. Parking during our celebrations was never an issue as there was enough clearance to park and maneuver around each others vehicles without parking on the street. My family and I didn’t realize the advantages we had living on a significant amount of land until we moved to the city. In our new home, when my friends would come over, we never ventured out of the house like what we did in the country. Our yard was diminutive and if we did go outside, we had to be in the front yard and watch out for traffic. We quickly realized it would be beneficial to stay indoors and play cards, create challenges or find something productive to do inside.
