Richard Rodriguez and Amy Tan are two bilingual writers. Rodriguez comes from a Latin background where both his parents speak Spanish. Tan is a child of Chinese parents. In the 1940s we saw changes in women's fashion that no one had previously seen. Starting in this time women's shapes went from a straight look to embracing curves as they went for an hour glass look. As feminine as the look was during this era women were put into the workforce for needed supplies for the war.
