Mercutio taking Romeo to the Capulets party also contributed. The Friar and his three plans contributed to Romeo and Juliet’s passings too. The two families fighting, Mercutio taking Romeo to the party, and plus Friar Lawrence with his three plans contributed to the passing of Romeo and Juliet. First, when the families are fighting they do not communicate to anyone that is connected to the opposite bloodline. So, that means Romeo and Juliet is not allowed to communicate and are not suppose to have a relationship. Secondly, Juliet’s family wants to shield her more than needed. For example, Juliet is not allowed to go anywhere without adult supervision. Thirdly, when Tybalt from the Capulet family kills Mercutio and that makes Romeo go after Tybalt. Then Romeo goes after Tybalt he kills him so this causes trouble between the families more. As you can see, the two families contributed to Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. …show more content…
First, when Mercutio took Romeo to the Capulet’s party. At the party Romeo and Juliet meets, but what Romeo does not know is that love at first sight will kill him. Secondly, if Mercutio did not start the fight Tybalt would not have died. When Romeo kills him he gets banished and is not as close to Juliet to know her plan. Thirdly, when Mercutio died he said “A plague o’ both your houses.” If Mercutio did not say that Romeo and Juliet could still be alive. To conclude, the main reasons Mercutio contributed to Romeo and Juliet’s passings is because, he took Romeo to the party, started the fight with Tybalt, and cursed both
In the play Romeo and Juliet, there were two familial forces that led to the couple’s deaths. The feuding families were Montague’s and Capulets.
The Capulet’s and Montague’s are responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet because of the hatred between the families.
Tybalt ends up killing Mercutio, which makes Romeo defend him and fight Tybalt. Romeo kills Tybalt, which leads to him being banished from the city. Friar Laurence then creates a plan that was to have Juliet fake her death, but the plan goes wrong causing Romeo and Juliet to kill themselves. Secondly, the Montagues and Capulets are also responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. One main reason is that the two families were involved in a feud.
All of this may be true, but the feud is ultimately responsible for Romeo and Juliet’s deaths. The feud between the families created separation and revulsion between the
The households played a huge role in the pair of teens’ deaths. After Romeo and Juliet were found dead, Prince tells the two households that because of their rivalry, the two families lost their only children to love. “Where be these enemies?—Capulet! Montague!/See what a scourge is laid upon your hate,/That heaven finds means to kill your joys with love!/And I, for winking at your discords, too/Have lost a brace of kinsmen. All are punished.” (5.3.301-305) Everyone is being punished for the Capulet-Montague rivalry. If the Capulets and Montagues didn’t have a rivalry, Romeo and Juliet’s love would have been accepted. If their love was accepted, they would not have to hide their relationship and they wouldn’t have died because of the betrothal Capulet agreed to for Juliet. Peter, Tybalt, Mercutio, and Paris played a minor role in the fated deaths as well because their roles are connected to the Montague-Capulet rivalry. Peter, a Capulet servant, was ordered to find people whose names were on a list that Lord Capulet gave him. Peter was illiterate so he had to find help, which came in the form of Romeo. Romeo helped him with reading the list and, in return for helping him, Peter invited him to the party but only if he wasn’t a Montague. Peter was the one who caused their first encounter to happen by inviting Romeo to the party. Tybalt and Mercutio were part of the same
There are three reasons that the famillies caused the death of Romeo and Juliet. The first reason is because the father of Juliet wanted Juliet to marry Paris instead of Romeo. This is a reason to blame because Juliet wanted to be with Romeo not Paris. Another reason is that both famillies have a fued with each other. If the fued never existed Romeo and Juliet could be together without any conflict. The last reason for the death of Romeo and Juliet
The feud between the Capulets and the Montagues was the root of these tragic events. It caused the death of the young couple because the centuries old hate caused every issue that arose. No issues, fights, or deaths would have occurred if the feud did not fuel them. For example, it led to the fight that banishèd Romeo, caused Friar’s flawed plan, and ultimately led to the two lovers suicide. In addition, the feud against the family names was the only reason Romeo and Juliet’s love was only frowned upon.
Capulet, the father of the victim Juliet, played a role in Romeo and Juliet’s death because of his hatred for Romeo’s family, which made it necessary for the lovers to keep their relationship a secret and that kept them apart. Capulet arranges for Paris to marry his already married daughter and causes Juliet to take desperate measures as he wrongly threatens to end his relationship with her if she decides to disobey. Lady Capulet led the two to their deaths as she pressures Juliet in marrying Paris whom she doesn’t love and when she turns her back on Juliet at a desperate time like a bad mother because Juliet opposes the idea of the marriage. Lady Capulet also expresses her hatred and death wishes upon Romeo, emphasizing the need for secrecy in their relationship, and prohibiting Juliet to be with Romeo. Friar Lawrence starts the chain of problems as he decides to marry Romeo and Juliet, though their relationship was doomed to not last because of their families conflict. He provides Juliet with a potion and a dysfunctioning plan, which later did not work and instead ended their lives. He made the bad decision of leaving Juliet alone in the tomb after her husband's death, allowing her to freely take her own life. In the real world, there are many people that play a big role in our lives, whether it’s family or friends that are with us every day. It is important to be cautious
The two families in the play named the Capulets and the Montagues had a long hatred for each other. For instance, they had fights in the streets simply, because a servant bit his thumb at the Montagues, which was a derogatory gesture. Of course, this kind of drama between the families made a great story opportunity for the author to make the daughter Juliet Capulets and the son Romeo Montagues to fall in love. The fighting between families would have probably went on for years until an unforeseen death of their children happened. There are many different foil characters and situations in the play Romeo and Juliet, which causes lots of confusion to the characters in the story.
Capulet screams, “Hang thee, young baggage! Disobedient wretch!” (3.5.161). From this evidence, the reader can identify that Juliet’s father is verbally abusive by telling Juliet that she is just weighing him down. This significant because the reader can observe that Juliet how badly she wants to marry Romeo to escape from her father. This is significant because Juliet wanted to escape the lifestyle she had to live in and this overall change changed the lifestyle of the Capulet and the Montague families because not only were Romeo and Juliet united, but the Capulets and Montagues became united too. This caused a ripple effect because everyone was affected, although Romeo and Juliet only planned for their unity. Juliet may have felt that her death and Romeo’s death occurred because of her devastating past. Lastly, some characters in the play may feel that Tybalt was to blame for starting a fight with Mercutio, killing him, and ending in his own death after battling Romeo. Benvolio exclaims, “... and Tybalt slain”
William Shakespeare’s tragedy, Romeo and Juliet, follows the forbidden love of young Juliet and her Romeo. Juliet is a Capulet and Romeo is a Montague. The Capulets and the Montagues have a long lasting feud and this is what forbids Romeo and Juliet from being together. The second Romeo sees Juliet, the love he thought he had for Rosaline vanishes and he falls in love with Juliet immediately. Unfortunately, Romeo and Juliet are forced to hide their love, and eventually their marriage because they are afraid of what their parents will think or what their parents will do. If anyone is responsible for the death of Romeo and Juliet, it would be Juliet’s parents, the Nurse, and Friar Laurence.
Even though Tybalt, who came from the Capulets, was the one who killed Mercutio, both families were responsible for the death. Mercutio’s last words portray that his death was Romeo’s fault, as much as Tybalt’s fault, for closing the gap between the two rival families. In Act 3 Scene 1, Tybalt called Romeo a villain, “No better term than this: thou art a villain” (3.1.57.) During that time, being called a villain was a terrible insult which could have started a fight. Romeo decided to ignore this comment, from Tybalt because of his relationship with Juliet. Mercutio on the other hand
Romeo and Juliet’s parents play a major role in the death of their children; both families hate each other due to an ancient feud between the Montague’s and Capulet’s. When Romeo and Juliet met each other
“Romeo and Juliet” is said to be the biggest love tragedy story of all time. While I do agree with that, I believe that one of the best love tragedies is the one in the hit TV show “The Vampire Diaries”. They are both really similar, but at the same time different; the stories show two worlds that have different types of characters, genre, and plots. First off there are many different characters between “The Vampire Diaries” and”Romeo and Juliet.” In “The Vampire Diaries,” there are vampires, werewolves, doppelgängers, hybrids, witches, heretics, and the originals.
On the Esquire Network show “Friday Night Tykes”, parents of nine year old boys push their children to the limit for them to succeed in extremely intense football leagues. The majority of the parents on the show strive to have their child play college football because they believe it will positively impact their child’s future. However, the physical and emotional toll this extremely competitive lifestyle is having on these kids has people questioning whether or not it is right for these parents to continue to push their children just because they think playing college football will be the best thing for their child in the future. In Romeo and Juliet, William Shakespeare utilizes the relationships of Juliet and her
