Brief Background
McDonald’s
McDonald's is an American fast food restaurant chain. It was founded in 1940 as a barbecue restaurant owned by Richard and Maurice McDonald, in San Bernardino, California. The first McDonald's franchise using the arches logo opened in Phoenix, Arizona in 1953. Businessman Ray Kroc joined the company as a franchise agent in 1955 and soon bought the chain from the McDonald brothers. Its headquarters are based in Oak Brook, Illinois.
Today, McDonald's is one of the world's largest fast food restaurant chains, serving 68 million customers each day

The company was founded in 1953 as Insta-Burger King in Jacksonville, Florida. After it hit some financial difficulties in 1954, David Edgerton and James McLamore bought the company and renamed it Burger King. In 1957, the Whopper became the first major addition to the menu, and has been Burger King's signature product since. Burger King's menu has expanded from a basic offering of burgers, French fries, sodas, and milkshakes to a larger and more diverse set of products making it similar to the McDonald’s menu. As of December 31, 2016, Burger King had 15,738 outlets in 100 countries. Burger King serves more than 11 million customers every day around the world. From these bar graphs we can see that the service is better and Burger King than McDonald’s with the majority choosing 4 for Burger King and the majority choosing 3 for McDonald’s.

These pie charts show that the expected standards of these fast food companies is better kept at Burger King with only 11.8% not being satisfied.
These four pie charts show that there are many more McDonald’s stores in South Africa than Burger King outlets due to the average time it would take to drive to one and the number of stores that people know of.

These two bar graphs show that the value for money at Burger King is slightly higher than the value for money at McDonald’s.
