Sam Vs. Dean: Which is the better character? Brothers Sam and Dean Winchester are both “hunters” living in the shadow of their ancestors. These two demon hunting, monster killing “hunters” are from the well known TV show, Supernatural. Though both do the same work the way they go about it is very different. Sam and deans fighting style, motivation and personality are nothing alike. Personalities between siblings tend to be either identical or completely opposites. In the case of Sam and Dean they are pretty opposite. Sam is more of the intellectual, the one who attended college. When going on a case Sam is the one doing most of the research and usually remembers many details about certain things Dean tends to overlook. Sam is also more
their doings. This is a comparison between Sam and I, violence is not the answer; fighting or
Last week I predicted that Dean would struggle with the return of Mary. I think he is having an identity crisis which is leading him to act very ‘un’ Dean like. At the start of the episode, he even tried to talk to Cas about the situation. Since Dean was four years old he has been brother, mother, and even father to Sam. With the return of Mary, Dean’s place in the family has shifted. The scenes at the end of the episode where Dean was emotional eating
Throughout the story My Brother Sam is Dead by James Lincoln Collier and Christopher Collier, the character Sam, shows significant change. In the beginning of the book, Sam continuously argues with his father about going to war. Sam wants to fight for the Patriots and make the colonies independent from Britain. His father, Life, is a strong Tory, and does not approve of his son fighting for the Patriots. Sam is stubborn and runs away to fight. But once Sam learns of the hardship his family goes through while he is away, he becomes more sympathetic and helpful. Sam is a dynamic character, because he changes from being stubborn and disrespectful to his father, to understanding and forgiving about the choices he made, and who they affected.
Finally, when in battle Sam never shows of defeat or fear as it would worry the children and allow for them to lose hope in the situation. When Caine had taken over the power plant, the book stated, “ ‘I have the power plant, that’s obvious,’ Caine said. ‘Stupid of you to lose it, Sam.’ Sam had no answer to that” (Grant 322). This shows that even though Sam had lost control of the vital power plant that they had been fighting for, he did not respond with helplessness. He held his ground by not giving into the fear that Caine had wished to be spelled upon him and his army of children. The children were not able to feel this fear because they felt if Sam stayed strong the rest would follow. Not only is Sam courageous, he is also a leader. First, when electing a person to be in charge of Perdido Beach kids generally looked to Sam to be the mayor. This is because before the FAYZ, Sam was known as School Bus Sam since he saved peoples lives when a school bus that he was on crashed. His ability to act quickly and make decisions that other people would find to be too difficult makes him a good leader. Also, Sam acts like a leader in that he wants to be a good role model to the kids of the town. He believes that if he wants people to follow his order he must first do what he orders of other people. When Astrid delivered news that kids were killing animals, the book states, “If he started blowing off his duties,
War is when two or more nation groups have an armed conflict. In April 1775, an armed conflict began. The war was known as, the American Revolution. The American Revolution was a war of principles fought between the Loyalists and Patriots. The Loyalist were men who chose to be loyal to their king and who feared and did not want any chaos; Patriots were the opposite. Hankering, the Patriots believed in having principles for their freedom and nothing could stop them from achieving what they wanted. Although, the main groups in the war was between the Loyalists and Patriots there was numerous people who chose not to become a Loyalist nor to become a Patriot. For example, Tim in the novel, My Brother Sam Is Dead, struggles to make a decision to become a Patriot or a Loyalist .
The plot for these stories are similar in terms of the protagonist defeating the antagonist. "Kane steps quickly out of the saloon, tiring as he comes. Mitchell brings his other gun up. Kane staggers from a bullet in the shoulder, but he keeps shooting, and Mitchell goes down, his guns slipping from his fingers" (Foreman 332). This proves that Kane defeats Frank Miller as being the protagonist. "One of us is to furnish a repast for the hounds. The other will sleep in this very excellent bed. On guard,
Another similarity in the stories is both of the characters are about their life styles and reasons for their actions. Emily and Matt are both seeking revenge. Matt murders Richard and Emily murders Homer out of revenge. Both character are strong and do what needs to be done. They are the same
After the death of Mary, Dean was raised on two principles: hunting and taking care of Sam. He feels it is his job and duty to do everything in his power to protect Sam. Dean’s family is his world, and after his father dies, all he has left is Sam. In every situation where Sam is hurt or in danger, Dean loses any inhibition or fear in order to save him. As Sam grew, Dean did his best to shield him from the world they knew so that he could be a normal happy kid. Flashbacks throughout many episodes show viewers their lives as they grew up. What Dean wants most is to be able to work and survive without Sam so that he can lead a normal, happy life. He knows it is too late for him. Later in the series, Dean gets involved with an old flame and her son. He constantly struggles to maintain their relationship while at the same time protect them from the hazards of his lifestyle. He eventually gives them up to keep them out of harm. The constant conflict he faces prevents him from becoming close with people. Therefore, occasionally he has to remind Sam that they are all they have.
Every time they meet, Dean has the feeling that he could see what he was becoming better than anyone else. Better than his brother. Because Sam is so convinced than that Dean – the Dean who killed an innocent boy just a couple of days before – wasn't his brother. Dean wasn't possesed by a demon.
The Plot of Sam Did he do this for health reasons? Explain and justify your response. After reading this story of Sam and why he is was brushing his teeth that way, I don’t believe that he was just brushing his teeth for health reasons. I read that he was going on a date and wanted to impress the young lady he meet a few weeks ago, not only did he need to impress her but also her family. Did he do this to look as much as possible like the male icon in the magazine (a cultural factor)?
Dean still hunted with John and so when John disappeared Dean went out to look for him. Dean soon realizes that he can’t find his father alone, so he ventures to Stanford college to get Sam. Sam is very reluctant to go with Dean, because he had a job interview. In the end though, Sam agrees to help find John but only for the weekend because he promised his girlfriend, Jessica that he would go to the job interview. So Sam and Dean set off to find John.
Then Sal meets Dean; a wild, roguish character, and is so enchanted by him that he believes he can shape his own identity through being ‘like’ Dean. Hence, Sal takes to the road, planning to follow in Dean’s footsteps.
Sam's self-concept is not distorted and he strongly believes that he is a stable adult, capable of raising his daughter. Constantly needing to defend his rights throughout the movie, Sam's self-concept becomes evident, and is clearly accurate. According to Sam, being a good parent
It has been said that many siblings are very similar; However my sister and I are nothing alike we are actually very different. When two people have the same blood type and genotype is not insured that you will be exactly the same. Having same parents increases the chances of having the same genes though. All Siblings have various behaviors and personalities that make them dissimilar. Siblings have a genetic and physical closeness that connect them together. It is reasonable that not all sisters resemble each other. My sister and I are completely opposite.
