Shaunae Miller and Allyson Felix are both athletically gifted women who competed in the 2016 Rio Olympics women’s 400 meter race. While they have many differences, they are very similar in many ways. Their race times have a miniscule difference, in the 2016 Rio Olympics they were just milliseconds apart in the semifinals and the finals.
Both Shaunae Miller and Allyson Felix have a high school and college education. Shaunae Miller attended college at the University of Georgia, while Allyson Felix first went to Los Angeles Baptist High School and from there attended the University of Southern California. In the semifinals Allyson Felix just barely beat Shaunae Miller with a time of 49.67 seconds with Shaunae Miller just milliseconds behind. In the finals it was the other way around. You can obviously tell that these two women are similar in speed.
These talented women grew up like most, with their family in their home wherever it may be that they lived. Allyson Felix and Shaunae Miller have raced before, including college and throughout their high school careers. The Olympics is not the first or only race for either of them to run. Shaunae Miller recently won the silver medal in Beijing.
Allyson Felix and Shaunae Miller are both incredible athletes who are great role models and present great sportsmanship. This article describes how Simone Biles and Aly Raisman took home a gold and silver medal for the United states. Competing in gymnastics, the ladies were overjoyed to be able to represent their country. Aliya Mustafina, from Russia, came in third place, taking home the bronze medal. Together the ladies from the United States, wept together in celebration. To them there was no shining star, only two ladies who had represented their country with honor.
Before asking any questions, Erin starts off by mentioning how amazed she is by runners she states “ But whenever i actually talk to a runner, i see the passion for the sport eeking out of every body movement they make”. She doesn’t understand how they can run for miles and miles without getting tired while she gets tired by just simply chasing after her kids. She figured that a runner would be perfect to interview. Noelle Isaak just recently began running but in such a little time she has trained hard for marathons, she even fainted at the GO! St. Louis Marathon which was held in extremely hot and humid weather she only ran 21 out of 26 miles. She explains that her training routine is a very long and rigorous process from spending 5 to 7 days a week training for up to 2 to 4 hours and still having to come home to start off her normal day.
