In The Giver it is the Giver, on The Truman show is it Christof. A way they are different is in The Giver the apple symbols Adam and Eve. In The Truman show, Truman equals Moses. The last thing how they are alike is they have something to do with Jonah and the whale. In The Giver Jonas sounds like Jonah, in The Truman show there is a storm just like the story.

In The Giver Jonas becomes the receiver one of the biggest jobs in the community but soon after his training classes he realizes what release is and soon escapes the community letting everyone else deal with the memories he has. The Truman Show is kind of like The Giver but it’s also not. In The Truman Show his life was nothing but a show everyone watched everyone in his life was fake his mom,dad,wife,friends all were actors and he had no idea until one day he realizes and his main goal is to go to Fiji and live life without being recorded 24/7. Control, the animals and Truman being controlled without them knowing it. Freedom, and how the main characters do not have a great deal of it. These views have been displayed in both The Truman Show and Animal Farm. These ideas are presented through the characters and events throughout both texts, they are used in different ways, yet mainly turn out to be not very good things.

The giver revolves around sameness. All the girls have the same haircut and all the boys have the same hair cut. Everything is black and white because they don't want them to see color. There cloths are the same and there lifestyle.(Lowry) Reality is everything is in color and you can dress however you want and have whatever haircut you want.
