Compare And Contrast The Grimm Brother's Cinderella

Read the Grimm Brother's Cinderella ( National Geographic web site.) and at least one other version of the story (see course materials for a list--remember, Disney versions are not a choice for this comparison.) How are the versions similar? Different? Appropriate response is one to two well developed paragraphs.

In both stories Cinderella’s mother died while she was still young, and her father re-married a vile woman with two equally wretched daughters who abused Cinderella. Further similarities include the event held by the King to find a bride for his son, the Prince and Cinderella receiving beautiful clothes and shoes to wear to the festivities. Also, in both stories the prince chose Cinderella without hesitation and her identity was not discovered by other party goers. A slipper was left behind in each story as well, which remained how the prince eventually discovered the mystery princess to be Cinderella so he could take her as his bride after many failed to make the fit.
I did notice many differences in the stories of the Grimm Brother’s and that written by George Routledge & Sons. For example, in the Grimm Brother’s tale Cinderella did not have a fairy godmother like that written by Routledge & Sons, rather Cinderella cried and prayed beneath a hazelnut tree that grew on her mother’s grave and birds brought her gifts instead. Furthermore, in the Grimm’s tale, Cinderella ran to the festival and did not arrive lavishly in a pumpkin-turned-carriage, and then escaped
