Growing up I had always been fond of traveling. Throughout my life I have been lucky enough to be able to travel a good amount. I’d like to continue to travel through my life to be able to identify places by what makes that place unique. Although I have had a lot of chances to travel in my life, there are still plenty of places that I have not been. Therefore, I will be comparing two places that I haven’t got the chance to go to yet. I will be comparing the regions of California and Colorado. The geographical location of California is on the Western side of North America. California borders Oregon, Nevada, and Mexico while the Pacific Ocean borders the western side of California. Colorado is also located on the western side of North America. The states that border Colorado are Wyoming, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Kansas, and Nebraska. The demographics of California are more diverse than other regions in the United States. The population of California is estimated total is 39,144,818 residents. The amount of Caucasian residents in California is 72.9% of the population of the state. The African American population is about 6.5% of the population. Hispanic or Latino is about 38.8% of California’s population, while the Asian …show more content…
The first national park I would like to visit is the Rocky Mountain National Park, one of the most popular national parks. It has massive peaks, canyons, waterfalls and lakes. Next, I would like to visit the Curecanti National Recreation Area, which is made up of three lakes, Blue Mesa, Morrow Point, and Crystall. Finally, I would like to see the Grand Sand Dunes National Park and Preserve. It contains some of the highest natural in land sand dunes. I would also like to visit some breweries while in Colorado. One of the breweries that I would like to visit is the Avery Brewing Company. You can go take a tour of the brewery, taste test, and at the end enjoy a meal with an ice-cold
Colorado, known for the Rocky Mountains, is a gorgeous place to be. The wildlife filled rectangular state covers 104,185 square miles. In the black timber, it is dark and silent, not a sound to be heard. The pine trees are so thick it blocks most of the sunlight from entering, only to see about seventy-five yards in front of myself. The terrain is rough and almost straight up and down, but the elk love it because it is a challenge for hunters to see them. As I walk my favorite ridgeline in the black timber, I watch for the slightest movement and listen for the smallest crack. Watching thirteen-lined ground squirrels run around and chase each other can be humorous sometimes to watch them fall down from the trees. I wait patiently for the chance
According to U.S. Census Bureau population estimates as of July 1, 2013, there are roughly 54 million Latinos living in the United States, representing approximately 17% of the U.S. total population, making people of Latino origin the nation 's largest ethnic or race minority. About 11.7 million immigrants are living in the United States illegally, a population that has not varied much over the last three years, but has been recently increasing again, according to new estimates (United States).
As I stepped out to the Las Vegas Strip for the first time, the first thing I came across was the massive water show at the Bellagio. With the calm music playing in the background finely tuned with every drop of water I fell in love. Along with the gigantic crowd of people that surrounded me I could feel the warmth of every light bulb that lit up the city that never sleeps. Comparing Las Vegas to my hometown Madrid, I find many differences that only I may be able to depict. Some of the differences include the food, the culture and the demographic of the people in the community. Out of the many differences I chose to compare three things that I found were the most interesting. Madrid and Las Vegas are very different in term of climate, economy,
America was unjustified because of the disputed of the territory. (Hook) Texas and Mexicans aren't being far to each other, or not letting one another have an equal part in the territories because Texas and the US believe their border was on Rio but the Mexicans thought theirs was the Nueces River they both want more land than the other causing a fight or a war. (Doc D) They are rude and disrespectful to the Mexicans when they lived in the Mexican territory, Because they think that since they live in mexico and we aren't Mexican we don't have to obey the laws/rules that they have made.Texas and Mexico both want big land masses so they fight over who gets what causing war between the two of them.
The Hispanic population has seen the greatest increase and makes up approximately 36 percent of the state’s population.

Hawaii and Wyoming are two states often visited because of the variety of activities they offer. Even though both states appear different, they actually do have similarities. Hawaii is a tropical island with a moderately warm climate year round. Because of its climate, visitors generally enjoy outside activities. Wyoming is a landlocked state that usually has cooler climate. However, in the summer, it can rival Hawaii for heat. In Wyoming people spend a great deal of time driving around, taking pictures and exploring new “bucket list” places. Also, activities such as hiking, wagon riding, and cookouts allow people to be outside during their visit. [Thesis]: Although both Hawaii and Wyoming have similarities such as amazing

Generally when one thinks of the American west their mind jumps to an image of untouched, unspoiled land, such as the land that is represented by America’s national parks. These tourist destinations in the West showcase the history of our nation’s land in a way that many people assume is and has always been the reality, but although the natural beauty of these lands is represented perhaps the beauty of the cultures that used to inhabit them is not.
Plus California has memorable places where we can visit, take pictures, and experience. Since I am a nature loving person, I enjoyed going to places that are natural and far more like Yosemite National Park. And I realizes there are also changes in that area. This is why I’m currently majoring in Evolutionary Biology and Ecology so I can earn my chance to visit new places where I wished to go in the future as I have a great career in life and share it with my family and friends. Also, I’m enjoying taking photos based on nature everywhere I go alone, with friends and family. There was one time was made a bike trip from UC Merced Campus to the Universal Service Recycling Merced all alone, it was a twenty miles trip. I literally rode straight on Lake and this is the place where I admired, so I took most my snapshots. So far I have taken photos of the Snowy Sierra Mountain, a campus that was a distance, and a snapshot of beautiful farmland area. And then when I went back to campus, I show to most of my friends and they are really interested and know how I’m really into nature and traveling. I found that was one of my memorable time that I did when I actually came to Merced. I felt Merced is a lot different than when I used to live before which is the Bay Area. Therefore California obtains its many distinctions of the great areas
