India and the United States of America are two of the world’s largest and prominent democracies. In the past few decades, they have conquered a significant progress in development and globalization. United States recognized India as key to strategic interests and has opted to build up a cordial relation with India. Both the countries have committed to political freedom which is protected by the empowering government. Both the governments have passed stringent laws to fight against terrorism and they aim at creating a stable Asia, where every citizen can lead a blissful and prosperous life.

“Both United States and India are based on federalism in their political structure. US became a Federal Republic State by promulgating its constitution in the year1789; whereas India became a Socialist, Sovereign, Secular, Democratic Republic by formally launching its constitution only in the year 1950.Thereby both countries attained dominion status in which a number of smaller states got affiliated forming a union with a strong central government that came to be called as Federal Government in the US and Central Government in India. Thus both states became Federal Republics. (1)” Both the countries have a written constitution which amends to the basic demands of the people. Both the governments have passed “Bill of Rights” which guaranteed fundamental rights to the people. The Federal or Union government reign supreme over the state governments in both the countries. The dissimilarities between the two countries political makeup is the cause of functional discrepancies in the countries.
