In comparing Ancient Egypt and modern day Americas, I found a few similarities and differences in their every day lifestyles. Things like religion, government, social class, writing, and their job specializations. It was surprising to me to find out that the ancient Egyptians way of leaving was somewhat like ours. Of course there are heavier differences, but still they were very modern for their times. Also I am in strong belief that we learned many things that are in our culture today from Ancient Egypt.
In the category of job specialization the Egyptians had no real big corporations like we do today, but much simpler jobs. Some examples of their jobs are: artisans who were skilled craft workers, brick layers who built monuments and city

The Egyptians also worried very much about the after life and made many preparations before the afterlife. There graves were very important to them, and they also did much to keep them from decaying after they passed. That is why they had the idea of mummification to allow them to not decay long after they passed. We also pay a lot of money to allow us to keep from decaying on our burials and the coffins.
The Ancient Egyptians government would be compared to as a kind of monarchy. Their King was called the Pharaoh and everyone in the civilization listened to everything that he said. Every Law and Business transaction went through this man. In our day we have only one leader but thousands of others that decide the laws of our country. We also have a vice president in America, if I had to pick a person to be the vice president of a Pharaoh in Egypt it would be the man called the vizier's. He was also well respected in the community and mostly was involved in the business aspect of the Pharaoh's job. The people of the Egyptian community really had no influence in the pharaoh's decisions, unlike America where we vote on all of our government officials. We also have people that don't allow our president to gain too much power, Unlike the Egyptians, where the Pharaoh had all the power in the community.
The Social class story of Egypt was a mess. They of course had slaves at the bottom of there
Although China and Egypt are countries thousands of miles apart, their religions in the period before 600 B.C.E are similar in the ways that they had religious rituals and believed in life after death. They’re different in the fact that Chinese religion was centered around ancestors and Egyptian religion was centered around their leaders.
In documents B, C and D it provided evidence for this claim. Labor in ancient Egypt meant rowing tug boats for granite blocks, farming, quarrying, being a merchant, transporting goods, and harvesting cotton, linen or flax for clothing. Labor in ancient Egypt was hard work, some labor could lead to death or injuries. The Nile provided water for transportation and also provided water for farmers to grow crops. During the Shemu season in ancient Egypt crops in the Lower Nile were harvested and sent onward to markets.
When one looks to the village of Deir el-Medina one is given a few indications of every day life of Ancient Egyptians. Mainly workmen and their families occupied the village (except when Akhenaten was in power). Evidence from this village gives us insight into the economy of everyday man in ancient Egypt as well as how the workers lived. We are even given evidence of a strike. All of this cuts away the modern misconception of Egyptian workers in the guise of slaves.
In Egypt, the social structure was very important to everyday life. At the top they had their main gods, Ra, Osiris, and Isis. They even elevated some of their own people to the top, giving the god status. These were the Pharaohs. The Pharaohs had total control and power over their subjects and pyramids were built as their graves. There is also a chain of command at the top of hte social structure. After Pharaohs came his appointed assistant, known as the Vizier who collected and kept track of the taxes. Under the vizier came their scribes to helped record all the documents. These were vitally important because they were largely the only ones in the entire community who could read and write. Then came the soldiers, quite high up on the ladder compared to many of the other civilizations. This was because fighting for the Pharaoh was highly appraised work. The middle class was made up of the craftsmen, traders and merchants, and artisans. These are the people who created the everyday tools for people up and down the entire social structure. And finally at the very bottom came the farmers and slaves, doing the unsklled work unlike the middle
Pharaoh was the controller of all jobs. The Egyptian society involved a social pyramid. It started with Pharaohs, and nobility, vizier, high priest, priests, doctors, scribes, craftsmen, farmers, and finally slaves. They really focused on how they dressed. You knew a person's social status by the type of clothes that he or she wore.
Did you know that Ancient Egypt was called the “gift of the Nile?” This wasis because the king owed its survival to the annual flooding, which resulted in the depositing of fertile silt. Still, the Nile Rriver flows today in the Mediterranean Sea with a delta at its mouth. I believe that Ancient Egypt had the most impact on America and even the whole world, more than any other ancient civilization.
When people even mention ancient egypt, loads of things pop up like mummies, ruins, deaths, chaos, and none reasoning time period. Although in this case we have the wrong interpretation of how they actually loved their daily life better than americans do today . How can a lost civilization like ancient Egypt could even compare to American culture? Not only by how Egyptians had organized social standards, lifestyle, money, and how women’s rights were highly respected in the eyes of their people and government. Were as Americans are is still having trouble of picking the next president.
Ever wondered what food, woman, or everyday life was back in Ancient Egypt? Ancient Egypt was very different than America is today. In this essay, I will teach you about all those topics!
As widely admired civilizations both Ancient Egypt and ancient Greece prospered for many years, and is due to its political governing. In ancient Egypt the Pharaoh was perceived to be the embodiment of the all mighty sun god, and regarded him as a god himself. Therefore the Pharaoh was the ruler of all of Egypt and citizens did not have a say in politics. Egyptian class structure is best portrayed by
Ancient Egyptians are very interesting people. They were very successful and very powerful. Life in ancient Egypt was not easy. They grew their own food and made their own clothes. They did as best they could with what they had. Life in Canada seems easy compared to ancient Egypt. Their cuisine, clothing, language, government, schooling and contributions to their society were different from ours. For my essay I have written about each of these and seen the differences and similarities between ancient Egypt and Canada.
Due to all of the 7 indicators of civilization, Ancient Egypt has became a complexed civilization. One of the 7 indicators was their government. The person who ruled the government first was the Pharaoh. The pharaoh was not only named the leader of the government, but he gained another title as the leader of people's religion. there were more than one person in charge of government so he had hierarchy rulers to lead different aspects of the government.
The people groups in ancient Egyptian were very different than our societies social groups today. Ancient Egyptians were grouped in a hierarchical system with the Pharaoh at the top and farmers and slaves at the bottom. The groups of people nearest to the top of society were the richest and most powerful. The Pharaoh was believed to be a god on earth and had the most power. He was responsible for making laws and keeping order. Ensuring that Egypt was not attacked or invaded by enemies and for keeping the gods happy so that the Nile flooded and there was a good harvest. The Vizier was the Pharaoh's chief advisor
Work life was hard for most egyptians. Peasant life was not enjoyable. Most people made a living off of agricultural stuff. Grain and particularly wheat were the main successful crops. Even though the egyptians were the first people to introduce the ox-drawn plow, planting, plowing, and harvesting were still very difficult. Taxes were imposed on crops which made it hard for poor families to become anything more than poor. They couldn’t really raise up in society with those taxes. The views of slaves are very different. Many scholars believed that the slaves were treated more like servants than slaves. Some slaves weren’t as lucky and had to work humiliating and degrading jobs. There is a lot of controversy about the Great Pyramids being built
Any normal Egyptian had a regular low paying job such as a farmer. These farmers aren’t just farmers they also work for the pharaohs, which means they do whatever they tell them too. Working for the pharaohs was not a secure job, because there was very low pay and sometimes you did things out of your job description. Some of the things the pharaohs would call a worker to do was building roads, helping to make pyramids, and fighting in war. It was not common that common workers were called to war, but when they were they feared that they might die in strange land where no one can find their bodies.
First and foremost, Ancient Egypt was structured in the form of a pyramid. The top of the pyramid of course was the gods. These gods included Ra, Osiris, and Iris, and according to the people of Egypt, these gods controlled almost the entire earth. Leaders in Egypt were called pharaohs so they were believed to be Gods in human form which is amazing. The ruler in status were powerful nobles and priests. Only nobles could hold government posts and in those positions they profited from tributes paid to the pharaoh. Priests were responsible for pleasing the gods. While soldiers fought in wars or quelled domestic uprisings. When there was no war to fight, the soldiers supervised
