Beowulf was a well-respected leader in his society, much like my dad is a well-respected leader in my family. Although Beowulf is a fictional character and my dad is very much a real person, they have many similarities in both their character traits and their morals.
Beowulf is a reliable warrior in battle and a very well-known thane. Similarly, my dad was a well-respected soldier in the military. My dad showed incredible bravery in the military much like Beowulf showed in his many adventures and battles. Beowulf showed no fear going into battle, even when he knew his life was on the line. This reminds me of my dad because despite the fear that he must have been facing while in the military, he never showed it and it never stopped him from

For this assignment I have decided to compare and contrast Beowulf literature to Beowulf the movie. I thought that actually watching the movie Beowulf would bring to light some of the reasoning of the poem but it did a better job of confusing me. The movie varies greatly from the poem and may have made me lose what little understanding I began with.
In the year 2011, my father became my saving grace, my hero and my world. Nothing could ever compare to my father, not even batman. My father may not wear the combat boots or cape, but he does wear dusty steeled toed boots for up to ten hours. That shows a lot strength, and that my friend is enough to make me admire his elbow grease a little more. The sweat of one’s brow should always make another character indebted. The Anglo-Saxon hero Beowulf and my father have many similarities.
