Friendchip. Generosity. Kindness. Qualities that many, but not all people posses. What would life be like if everyone was kind and helpful all the time, and there were no bullies or even evil people in this world? In other words, people treat you how they would want to be treated; with kindness, respect, and equality. In the United States, the reasons for being bullied reported the most by students were 55% looks, 37% body shape, and 16% race (Davis & Nixon, 2010). Imagine all that; gone. The author of, “Camp Cruel,” and the artist of “Kill em with Kindness” try to persuade people to stop the bullying and the mean behavior. The theme of the song “Kill em with Kindness” was to be kind to everyone; and the theme from the story “Camp Cruel” is treat others how you want to be treated. These themes are identical because they go hand in hand when be nice and friendly to one another. What the author means by this is, is that if you are treating people how you want to be treated, and you want others to treat you with kindness, then you must be kind as well. Even though she did not allow them to have any satisfaction over her, the kids were still bullies. The text states, “Hey Moron. Why’d you come here? Nobody likes you.” This was said by one of Moran’s not-so-nice friends at camp and as you can see, those are not the first words you want to hear when you walk into camp. However, this is now Moran changed. She did not let those people taunt her the rest of her life, instead she used it to motivate her to push farther. At the turning point, the text states, “I turned my Korean name, Moran, into one of my most memorable routines.” Moran is famous now. She is not liked by nobody anymore; everyone likes her. So that is how Moran had changed her life around. On the other hand, Selena Gomez used a different strategy. Her strategy was symbolism. In her song, “Kill em with Kindness” it states, “Your lies are bullets”, and “Your mouth's a gun.” Lies are not actually bullets and mouths are not guns, it was a metaphor for how people’s lies and what they say can affect someone; in other terms, it's a symbol. When saying that ‘your lies are bullets’ you are saying the your lies hurt. Lies hurt people's feelings, like how a bullet would hurt. Additionally, when you are saying ‘your mouth's a gun’
