Currently, Canada is economically heavily dependent on larger economic countries for research and development and new technologies. Canada also has always been dependent on the extraction of its primary products for export to other countries. "As far back as 1963 as much as sixty percent of the manufacturing industry was owned by firms whose head office lay outside the region or in foreign countries" (www.Statisticscanada/local/stateprov/ont.html. October 5, 2001).
Canada is currently sitting at a population of over 30 million people and is ranked 11th in the world in terms of exports (Canada: Economic Freedom, 2017). The economy in the country seems to be thriving very well with many skilled workers and plenty of jobs for most individuals in the civilian labor force. For the most part, Canada has always done pretty well in terms of having a successful economy. Starting in the early 50s Canada was thriving primarily off of the waterways unlike today the country thrives off selling petroleum, cars, and other things other countries need and want. Although this shift from a farm based economy too much more industrialization did not happen until after the Great War, it wasn't until the 1920s until Canada
Unemployment currently sits at a seven point two percent as of March two thousand thirteen. This is a slight increase recently but has gone down from about eight point seven percent back in two thousand nine, the labor force has also increased by roughly one million people since the middle of two thousand nine. There has been a big boom for Canada since the American financial crisis which definitely affected the livelihood of Canadian citizens. Canada is unique because it is officially a bilingual country. This is an important factor when considering doing business in Canada. Canada has a constitutional monarchy which also has three branches of parliamentary (Legislative, Executive, and Judicial). The head of state is Queen Elizabeth the second. Canada is one of the top ten trading countries in the world; they are a very globalized country. They have a varied culture in Canada a major factor in this may be because it has the highest immigrations rate per capita in the entire world. The country itself prides itself on the multiculturalism that it promotes as a society and as a government. They come from British and French ancestry but also have a big influence from the Canadian people that instantly make Canada a very diverse market. Canada also ranks eleventh highest in human development as of March two thousand thirteen according to a Human Development Index study conducted by the United Nations Development Program.
The two most important resources in this region are oil and water. The huge oil “deposits there and in the neighboring countries around the Persian Gulf (the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, and Bahrain) established these countries as some of the richest in the world” (Document F). Nevertheless, the countries who do not have as much access to oil are weak economically. Oil is the biggest export in the Middle East, and in a way, the amount of oil a country has determines how wealthy that country will be. Another component of oil is that countries and ethnic groups are disputing for the control of prices of this economic resource. It has gone to the far extent of foreign countries attempting to control the oil price and also the use of weapons for this (Document E). In addition, it is impossible for each country to have equal access to water due to the unbalanced distribution of these essential resources. As a result of this, these countries are fighting for as much control of water sources they can get. Radically, there are many countries in the Middle East that are striving to obtain as many natural resources to strengthen their economy and lifestyle, and it seems most obvious that the scarcity of these resources is a significant problem in the region
Canada is a country, proud of its culture and heritage. Canada is a country in North America alongside the United States and Mexico, boarded by the Arctic, Atlantic, and Pacific oceans. Particularly Canada is a multicultural, diverse country with two national languages consisting of French, as well as English. Although the language is diverse it is not the only element that changes across the country. In addition, Canada consists of just under ten million kilometers squared of land, which is the second largest landmass in the world. Likewise, Canada has everything from flat grass to beautiful mountains, sparse hills to large valleys with mesmerizing beauty. Something to consider about Canada and its success is the aspects of Canadian society, and what is contributing to the overall well-being of all Canadian citizens making Canada a great country to live in.
Extending from the Atlantic in the east, to the Pacific in the west and northward into the Arctic Ocean, Canada is one of the most prosperous nations on Earth. This prosperity is represented by the voice that every citizen possesses thanks to the forefathers of Canada and the guaranteed rights and opportunities that the people of Canada rely on. As a nation, the pride, opportunity and freedom is not all Canada has to offer. Further, the natural beauty of Canada’s vast and beautiful lands come from various environments such as the Rocky Mountains, the tundra in the Arctic, and the farmland in the prairie's. In the great white North, having access to a universal healthcare system, celebrating cultural diversity of the people and the
Due to the vast physical diversity in our country, there are many different natural resources available ranging from oil to fish to minerals. Canada is number 4 on the list of countries with the most natural resources; it has 33.2 trillion dollars worth of natural resources. The interior plains have a rich source of salt, oil and natural gas. The revenue from oil was about 2.5 billion dollars in 2016 in Alberta. The Great Lakes-St.Lawrence Lowlands has an industry of hydroelectricity and agriculture. The soil is very rich and good for farming. The great lakes and the St. Lawrence River also provides a source of fish and fresh water which is exported. Hudson Bay and Arctic Lowlands has a lot of different kinds of natural resources (e.g., forestry, hydroelectricity and natural gas) due to the physical diversity. Most of the economy in this region comes from mining ( over 100 million dollars in revenues). It’s very important for us to try to preserve the physical diversity of our country because as we can see our economy is greatly affected by it. We have most of our natural resources because of how different our land is in
In the article “Advancing the Canadian Ideal” by Hugh Segal, he argues how Canadian history mirrors it’s Canadian ideal, but in order to defend this our challenge is to adapt to our policies (Segal 170). He further describes the way we move forward as a society, is to determine what the canadian ideal is allowing us to sustain it (168). In this essay I will argue that Segal makes a good argument because through my evaluation and assessments of his premises, it supports his main idea and his main allegation. Canada is a country full of history discovered by the Europeans, and civilized by the Aboriginals (Segal 169). A country known for its fur trade, lumber and minerals, and the greatest national debate over the Trans Canada pipeline
The economy of the province of Ontario is the largest in Canada and is rich and diversified. Ontario’s main international export is from the automotive sector with more than 30 % of all its exports. Even though we rarely hear about it in the news; Ontario, of all Canadian provinces, also has the largest base of Office Furniture Manufacturers. Ontario also hosts many generic pharmaceutical companies and defense related industries.

5 Canada is a resource rich country. Although Canada is physically vast, most of the population is located in the Great Lakes region and along the Saint Lawrence River. This is due to the geographic limitations on where people can live. However, due to the geographic limitations, it means that the natural resources throughout the country can be accessed more fully. The key to Canada's economy is its role as a resource base for exports of minerals and ore, forestry products and

Canada is one of two countries located in North America and is the second largest country in the world. It is situated just north of the United States and constitutes the northern part of the country, excluding Alaska. Over the years Canada's culture has been influenced by European culture and traditions, mainly that of the French and British. Canadian culture has also been influenced by the countries' first people, the Aboriginals, as well as the newer immigrated population (Wikipedia, 2007). Canada consists of ten provinces and three northern territories, almost all of which are "rich in land and natural resources" (Bailey, par. 2). Canada is often referred to as a mosaic community because there is such a wide variety
Economic growth and development are hindered by the presence of barriers that in turn nullify the trade opportunities with which the country is endowed. Cutting tariffs and quotas is the main barrier for trading because it would decrease government’s revenue. It is difficult for Tunisian government to decide whether cut tariffs and quotas, although it would increase the trading volume.
The Middle East region is a conservative cultural and religious area that grew at only half the rate of other developing countries during the 1990s. A number of factors such as structural imbalances, the so-called 'curse of natural-culture and religious conflicts, are highlighted for the slow economic development in the Middle East. Similarly, Abed (2003) identifies five main causes holding back the economic growth of the Middle East i.e. lagging political reforms, dominant public sector; underdeveloped financial markets; high trade restrictiveness and inappropriate exchange regimes. apart from these , some of the others factors include the lack of integration into the global
