Family Vacationing Hawaii and Wyoming are two states often visited because of the variety of activities they offer. Even though both states appear different, they actually do have similarities. Hawaii is a tropical island with a moderately warm climate year round. Because of its climate, visitors generally enjoy outside activities. Wyoming is a landlocked state that usually has cooler climate. However, in the summer, it can rival Hawaii for heat. In Wyoming people spend a great deal of time driving around, taking pictures and exploring new “bucket list” places. Also, activities such as hiking, wagon riding, and cookouts allow people to be outside during their visit. They each have waterfalls that were once dried up from hot climate. Both states have volcanoes and are made from a volcanic eruption. The Big Island of Hawaii is basically a rock formed by lava. Yellowstone in Wyoming is a large, rocky grassland formed by an eruption. Surprisingly, Hawaii has mountains just like Wyoming. The Grand Teton mountains are stunning to look at and have snow on top of each peak. Hawaii has one main mountain called Mauna Kea which has snow on top of it even in warm climate. The activities and food are the same in Hawaii and Wyoming. In Hawaii, my family went to a luau which was like a cookout. Here, they served roasted pig in the ground, sides, and fruit. The food is not much different than in Alabama. However, some restaurants did serve bison burgers and different fish than I am used to. In Wyoming, we went to two different cookouts. The first one was on Snake River and they served steak, potatoes, corn, and rolls. The second cookout on a wagon ride had the same food as the first one, which is similar to food in Alabama. Some restaurants served lamb, bison, and tenderloin that my family is not used to. The transportation in Hawaii and Wyoming is the same. My parents and I had to fly from Atlanta to both states because it is such a great distance. We had to rent a car on both trips. To get around the Big Island of Hawaii or to see hidden places, driving a long distance was required. Wyoming took at least thirty minutes to get from one place to
The United States of America has many different landscapes, weather, and landmarks according to the area they are located. Although, Florida and Alabama are fairly close together and have many similarities, they have vast differences as well. There is just something about the Florida sun and weather that pulls me in. The atmosphere in Alabama is much different than the atmosphere in Florida. The people, the places, the sunshine, and the water are all different, but yet somewhat the same. The activities vary along with the landscape and nature.
The two states, Colorado and Iowa, both share differences and similarities regarding politics, geography, and their economies. Although they are both located in the United states, that doesn’t mean they share mostly similar things. As a matter of fact, that is not true. According to some resources found, there are more differences between them even though they don’t seem very far away from each other on the state map. Who they are represented by, their terrains and counties, and their type of economy. So, how are they different and how are they similar in some diverse ways?
The last state to join the United States is no other than Hawaii. Hawaii is the widest state in the United States and it stand alone in the Oceania. Hawaii is 10,932 square miles and it the 8th smallest state in the United States. It located 2,390 miles from California, 3,850 miles from Japan, 4,900 miles from China, and 5,280 miles from the Philippines. The state of Hawaii consists of eight main islands: Niihau, Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, Lanai, Kahoolawe and Big Island of Hawaii. These islands have the biggest mountain range of the world.
When we entered Wyoming in July 2011, I was amazed at how beautiful the landscapes were. Being from Tennessee I had never seen rock formations in colors like pink and red. It was a once in a lifetime drive for me and my husband in our 1987 VW Vanagon as we explored the world to see what new sights were around every corner.
The government invested in the railroad because they knew they would make a large profit. "The Pacific Railway Act of 1862 provided for land grants to the two companies-- ten sections of public land for each mile of track laid-- and first mortgage loans in the form of government bonds (T.A. Larson p.37)." The railroad knew they would make their money back, plus interest. The railroad would also make money selling the land.
During our trip there were some problems that we ran into. Our first issue was that we only had a certain amount of time to see a lot of things in each state. We all wanted to see The Great Sand dunes, but some of us wanted to see Zapata falls. Another problem we ran into was
While most living organisms reproduce during their lifetime, not all have the ability to move freely in order to complete the process of reproduction. Sessile marine organisms fit the profile of these organisms, as any sessile organism, by definition, is permanently attached or fixed to another surface. Due to their sessile nature, coral have the ability to reproduce both sexually and asexually. Coral that reproduce sexually do so most commonly by way of spawning and brooding, while coral that reproduce asexually do so through budding and fragmentation. Both modes of reproduction, both asexual and sexual, have their benefits and disadvantages, but both ultimately lead to the production of new coral throughout the world.
I have chosen to compare my home state of South Carolina with one of the biggest tourist attractive states in America, Nevada. Las Vegas attracts millions of people to the state yearly, famously known for a place called the strip which is a fascination to see at first site. In the meantime, the locals conditions lived in statewide are less glamorous. Data indicates the state of Nevada has issues, as do South Carolina with all of its marvelous heritage.
The U.S. Supreme Court has uniformly found that the in-state presence of a representative of an out-of-state seller who conducts regular or systematic activities in furtherance of the seller 's business creates nexus.
I saw a difference in all 4 states, maybe subtle differences but New Mexico was flatter, less rocky. Rain caught us in New Mexico, huge water drops fell on the windows, I was almost afraid it would break the glass. I was entranced by the view out my passenger side window. Big gray clouds hung over us, they were so low I could see the water vapor. For some reason, this interested me so much. Had they ever seen been that low in Las Vegas? It was cloudy the rest of the way. We stopped at a rest stop where we overlooked the road and I could see in the distance the town of Las Cruces. I stood there for a second and just thought about what was to come. There was some sort of energy in the air, maybe it was just the fact that it had rained but it
To start off, the west is so different than Michigan. Arizona is distinctive in landscape. First, this state is very inclined and declined everywhere and has tons of mountain ranges. Every morning I would walk out and feed the very anxious and hungry birds. I would scatter the food all over the rocks, around the cactuses, up and down the hills in our yard. I would always make sure I was wearing my shoes because the pavement in our driveway was like the sun if you stepped on it barefoot. Once I would feed the birds I went for a hike. Across the road, there was a hiking spot that tourists visited all the time. I was a very common tourist if I should call myself that, I was over there frequently. I would walk a good mile every single morning, just to see the new life wandering around. I loved seeing the landscape
Vacation in 2012 was one of the funnest vacations of my life with my family. We were going to start in Owasso, Oklahoma and head to Anaheim, California for Disneyland. We took Route 66 and had a great time going through Texas to see the Cadillac Ranch and meet people in New Mexico. Even in the heat, that was some fun with the family, but once we got to Arizona everything changed my thoughts about the trip. Nearing the Painted Desert and Petrified Forest my parents and sister knew they wanted to go there. It was fun to learn some geology, but I’m one of those people who don’t like exploring the world in the heat and rather stay in an air
Caedyn Wheeler was less than pleased with her time spent in the state of Wyoming. The heat was unbearable, resting comfortably in the upper 90s, and the humidity was so strong that she could hardly breathe. To her luck, it was not long before it was announced that her & her family were to return to the car and make the drive to their final destination. Although Caedyn knew not where exactly there were going, she eagerly awaited, hoping, if nothing else, that it wasn’t quite as unbearably warm.
My family spends every summer on the road. We’ve driven to 48 states. Every summer, my brothers and I hear the same lecture. Look out the windows. Appreciate the beauty around us. Through the windows of my family’s minivan I’ve see magnificent mountain peaks and golden fields. The type of scenery people paint and
While I was in Arizona I visited a couple of the state’s top rated tourist attractions. Through them I learned and experienced
