Identities is to define a person and bring some logical sense to it develop a meaning out of it. Though, throughout this story, Adam was trying to find his real identity. Yet, the attempt to discover one’s identity can be noticed when Adam questions his parents, and tries to find out why they lied and what are they hiding from him. Ex. “He had two birth certificates, two birthdays. Crazily, he thought, was I born twice??” as if Adam discovers his identity, and then rejects it. (pg. 72)

Where it seems it is a work about the government with corrupted agents, and the best interests in the people are not in mind; although, it is not obvious until the conclusion of the novel. The scenario of an individual struggles against corrupted authority, as David was struggling with the authority that he testified against, though now trying to terminate him.
Similarly, the witness protection program was just to keep the Farmer’s (Delmont’s) alive and to extract additional information, and then they killed him and his wife. Likewise, Grey and Brint they were involved within the same authority, which leads that all the authorities mentioned in the novel were corrupted and entangled to each other by creating the loss of their identities, establishing the fear for their lives, and consequently the loss of their lives. In other words, Anthony Delmonte was a brave reporter who stands up for what he believes, which is against that corrupted government. Where the Delmont’s are forced to live without limited choices. Grey fears that Anthony was hiding vital information so he uses the program to extract the information. Eventually, Grey kills him and his
