Comparing Mesoplatamia And Egyptian Civilizations

The early Egyptian civilizations were much different as they are alike with the Mesoplatamian civilization. Each had their differences and their simularities. In this essay I will be showing you those differences and give you an inside look on how they did things back then. The political part of both civilizations played a major part in their culture. Starting with the Egyptian politics, The Pharoah definitely played an important part in their government system. They had kings give orders to the highest Officials. As for the Mesoplatamians their political system was a bit different. They had city/states so they had many kings ruling those different parts of the region. Although they had their differences they did have something in common with their politics, Both had kings rule a city or area. The Politics in both civilizations both heavily influenced the economy. The economy of both civilizations created a foundation for the government systems. For Mesoplatamia, Agriculture was it’s “rock” and base for their government. They relied heavily on it. Since the production of farming grew so did their opportunities. They were able to make pottery, create a writing system, and started creating …show more content…

Egypt had the Pharoah at the very top because they believed the Gods are at a higher ranking than all. The government Officials are under the Pharoah’s because they are only at a higher ranking because they were wealthy. After the Officials then come the Soldiers, And at the very bottom were servants. Mesoplatamia had their own social ladder. The top ruler were the Kings. Under the Kings were the Scribes and so on all the way down to the bottom where the servants were. Unlike the Egyptians they didn’t recognize the Pharoah as a high ruler but did have simularities with having slaves on the bottom of the social ladder.
