Social responsibility is an ethical framework that suggests that an entity, organization or individual has an obligation to act for the benefit of society at large. Also, known as a duty individuals must perform to maintain a balance between the economy and ecosystem. In this paper, we will compare the social responsibility of Mexico and Denmark. For Mexico, people can venture and become who they want to be, but in Denmark, they are discouraged from being unique and trying to outshine others. We will also culturally compare the two nations, in addition, to comparing the food, and what roles people place to make their world better and more profitable. Social responsibilities in Mexico include work, family, survival, tradition, and religion. Although this is very like Denmark’s social responsibilities the way it is carried out is completely different. For instance, in Mexico, individuals begin working at a very young age around 6-7 years, whether if it’s at the …show more content…
IN both Mexico and Copenhagen food and drinks are known as great traditions that include different styles and flavors. IN Mexico people take traditional meals and recipes and put a twist on it to show the different cultures and express their love of different flavors and spices that were brought from generations to generations. In Mexico cooking has allowed individuals to show their creativity and make their families proud by cooking at renowned restaurant or mom and pop shops that only have family members using their famous recipes. IN Mexico, they use a lot of spare parts of the animal they don’t waste anything and a lot of innovation they include is just throwing random stuff into a pot that turns into cultural classics. Being able to show your creativity in the kitchen has opened many doors to the young innovative youth of Mexico to get out and travel the world sharing their cultural
Texas in it self is a highly diverse multicultural society. It takes on many aspects of many different cultures. One very noticeable culture that has a great impact on Texas would be that of the Mexican culture. Because Mexican culture is so apparent in Texas, that it is easy to compare and contrast some cultural aspects between Mexican and American cultures. This attempt to compare and contrast these two different yet similar cultures will increase awareness and acceptance of cultural differentiation. In order to examine these two cultures closely, I will use Hofstede's
Business organizations today are socially and ethically responsible for doing the right thing, exercising good judgment in their business activities with employees, stakeholders, customers and the community. Business organizations emphasis should not only be on profits, but also on how business decisions impact society.
Social responsibility in business can be defined as the obligation an organization has to minimize its negative social impact on stakeholders and to maximize its positive impact. In this case study we are introduced to a small local grocery chain referred to as Company Q. Located in a major metropolis, Company Q has recently closed some stores in areas of the city with higher crime-rates. They have started to stock a very limited amount of organic and health-conscience products after years of requests from their customers. Management has declined participating in a program to send expired food to a local food bank based on fears of employee theft by means of taking advantage of the situation. Based on the
With the signing of NAFTA in 1994, Mexico’s economy destabilized and shattered which caused increased dependence on foreign powers, like the USA, to invest in the economy. This put an emphasis on the globalization of the exchange of goods, services, and ideas. During my trip to Pilsen, I went to a bakery called “Xurro” and found that the whole place was a collection of products from Mexico, the USA, and other countries. They had not only traditional Mexican deserts like churros and Fresas con Crema, but also banana splits and Flaming hot Cheetos (a known American product very popular in Mexico). I also noticed they had an item on the menu called “Mocha Mezcla” which was Abuelita Mexican hot chocolate with a shot of expresso in it. These products are the physical representation of globalization through food; the mix and match of cultures introduces new combinations of goods to be sold and consumed. I observed that the menu was both in English and Spanish; the merging of two languages is indicative of the globalization of language as well as products. Also in the gift shop of the Art Museum, many products were made in China or other nations, although they were meant to represent Mexican heritage; this satisfies customer’s desire to be more “cultured” without being aware of the history and journey that the product has made. However, globalization is anything but a seamless process. Throughout the Museum, I perceived there were many images of American culture mixed with Mexican culture in a negative light. For example, there was a 3D sculpture of the famous Sun Maid Raisins, an American company, logo but the friendly girl on the box was replaced with a skeleton smiling with the words underneath, “SUN MAD Raisins: unnaturally grown with Insecticides, Miticides, Herbicides,
America was unjustified because of the disputed of the territory. (Hook) Texas and Mexicans aren't being far to each other, or not letting one another have an equal part in the territories because Texas and the US believe their border was on Rio but the Mexicans thought theirs was the Nueces River they both want more land than the other causing a fight or a war. (Doc D) They are rude and disrespectful to the Mexicans when they lived in the Mexican territory, Because they think that since they live in mexico and we aren't Mexican we don't have to obey the laws/rules that they have made.Texas and Mexico both want big land masses so they fight over who gets what causing war between the two of them.
In Mexico, the family remains the most important social institution. Such, is considered to be the main support and protection system among all for Mexicans. Primary ties are structured through blood descent, which comes from the mother’s and father’s sides. Therefore, every person is a member of two family lines. In addition, the “Parentela” or extended family usually includes all the descendants from the grandparents. For this reason, it is normal for a person to have a numerous extended family. According to the CDC, Mexico has traditionally been home to the patriarchal family structure. The father usually works and provides for the family while mothers take care of the household. However, the number of
Mexico is beautiful warm country located in Central America. Mexico has a representative democratic republic, and are currently being run by Enrique Pena Nieto their current president. The criminal and civil laws between the united states and mexico very in many areas; this forces the differences and similarities in the way the court systems function.
The first point to compare the two countries is job. What is different between one country and another in relation to job? First, Mexico is a country constituted by millions of habitants where not all its population can have a work in which it can be developed. There are not many job opportunities and it is not related to having a professional career. The jobs in Mexico are of eight hours so the federal law of the work establishes but when you are in the work more of that hour does not mean that, they are going to pay to them because the wages are already established. There is the minimum wage that is 80.04 Mexican pesos which is the lowest amount that the worker must receive in cash for services rendered in a working day. Such a quantity does not actually satisfy the normal needs of a people
The following section I discuss the following: form government, living standards, labor market conditions, the orderliness of leadership and succession, culture and demographic characteristics of the population, integration with international economic systems and security risk.
In Mexico, parents play a key role in shaping daily life through the style of relationship they maintain with their children and the family climate that promotes. Within a traditional family, the mother is the one who stays in the home, while the father is the one who goes to work to
In the midst of the prevalence of democratic transitions, a number of developing countries are seeking to achieve the successful consolidation of civil order in modern days. Among those participants, Mexico and Nigeria has been spotlighted for the completely contrastive endings at the end of their long-adventures towards democratization since their independence; Mexico, from its independence, has maintained the political stability despite the authoritarian single-party regime and even accomplished the solid democratization at the time of the 2000 election whereas Nigerian regime has been deteriorated by a series of military cues d’états and
Social responsibility is built on a system of ethics, in which decisions and actions must be ethically validated before proceeding. If the action or decision causes harm to society or the environment then it would be considered to be socially irresponsible. Being socially responsible means that people and organization must behave ethically and sensitivity towards, social, cultural, economic, and environmental issues. Striving for social responsibility helps individuals, organization and government to have a positive impact on development, business and society. Often, the ethical implication of decision/action are overlooked for personal gain and the benefits are usually material. This frequently manifest itself in companies that

Social responsibility is generally regarded as a duty of an organization’s management towards the benefit and well-being of the society in which it is engaged. The organization must behave ethically considering the social, cultural, economic and environmental issues.
Social Responsibility can be “negative,” in that it is a responsibility to refrain from acting or it can be “positive,” meaning there is a responsibility to act. Being socially responsible not only requires participating in socially responsible activities like recycling, volunteering and mentoring, but to actually make it a lifestyle. “But does everyone on earth have an equal right to an equal share of its resources,” (Hardin 365). Only through a commitment to embrace and embed social responsibility into people’s personal value and belief system can people truly become socially responsible in
