Everyone has a goal in life. Some goals are generic such as to have a family or your dream job. People can plan and prepare for the journey to their goal but, what if the road takes you somewhere you could never have imagined. Miles’ (or Pudge’s) goal is quite unique though. He is looking for his Great Perhaps. "I go to seek a Great Perhaps." That's why I'm going. So I don't have to wait until I die to start seeking a Great Perhaps.”Pudge was looking for a new life. He was not happy with where he was in his current situation so he went out to seek his Great Perhaps. Have you ever had a goal and you would do anything to achieve it? Changing how we are and the things we do for people in life, is not as impossible as it seems. I have seen people do amazing things that have changed their lives forever. It is special to have that feeling that you just met your goal and it was the biggest goal you had out of all of the other goals. That is how goals shape us in life.
Everyone has aspirations, some tend to be more steadfast, others last only a short amount of time. A goal is something we aim for, something that we try our best to keep a firm grip on.
Setting goals is a major part of everyones life. Many people have different goals that they set. One goal that someone sets could be very hard for that person to do but very easy for someone else to accomplish. Goals are important for us to survive or to feel good about ourselves. Without goals, we would be so lazy and not get anything done. Most goals that people set, they don’t even know about. Goals make us feel accomplished and good about ourselves and are actually good for us because they make us want to get something done. In the short story, “The Scarlet Ibis” by James Hurst, Doodle strives for the goals that the narrator sets because his brother pushes him to and because he wants to do something no one thinks he can do, also the
As a human being there is a natural instinct to search for a higher power and their intervention. Furthermore, it is also an instinct to tie yourself closer to that power. Religion was the primary focus in the life of a Puritan in the seventeenth and eighteenth century. The Puritans actively searched for God and His intervention in everyday life. Edward Taylor was a Puritan clergyman who lived and wrote poetry until 1729. Naturally, his work reflected the Puritan beliefs. One of Taylor’s fascinating pieces, “Huswifery” gives the reader a brief glimpse into the hopes and desires of the Puritan society. Throughout the poem, the reader can see a conceit comparing the making of clothing to the making of a

For others, their skill is challenging for them, or they have to work at is constantly to maintain or better themselves in the skill. Nevertheless a goal is something that anybody, whether it is an athlete, student, or musician, will work at tirelessly to reach. For me, it was getting to ILMEA All-State during my high school career.
When I ask myself what I want to accomplish, I have a tendency to answer the much larger, broader questions. Rather than simply think of a career path I’d like to embark upon, or accolades I’d like to earn, my mind instead wanders to more metaphysical accomplishments. For example, I desire to accomplish things that can only be possible when a group of people are working
How many times have you contemplated your purpose? Whether it be in life, in school, or in the universe as a whole. Human beings roam this planet in search of their meaning in life.
