I would define my American Dream as having my dream job of becoming a neurosurgeon, marrying the man of my dreams, having a beautiful family, living life to the fullest and being happy while doing everything. I also have always wanted to travel the world and see many different places. I want to be very successful in life and to be able to do whatever I can for my family. My biggest part of my dream is to have fun no matter what I'm doing, who I'm doing it with, or where I'm doing it. All of these little dreams make up the American Dream that I have always had ever since I was a little kid. The first thing that I would want to accomplish is getting a good job that can always financially support me, even if there is a downfall in the economy. I have always wanted to be a neurosurgeon but now that I have grown older I have had to face reality and see that this probably isn’t going to happen. Having a family, getting a job and getting married are the three things are both dreams have in common. Most people’s dreams are probably this way because it’s a way of life in America. There is a little difference between my dream and the decade’s dream though, I wanna travel and become a very successful person. Many weren’t given the opportunity to travel the world but that’s a part of my dream that i really am going to strive to accomplish. Also many women weren’t given the opportunity to get a good job and become very successful, but now in my time women all over the world are achieving major accomplishments. Aside from the small little differences between both dreams, they are very close to having the same outcome in life for someone. Others may reach their dreams differently and may have to take a different course their dreams will still be
Both my idea of the American Dream and the boys’ ideas of the American Dream have similarities and differences. The two are comparable because in my vision I don’t want to be held back, just as the boys do not want to be. Although they are comparable on the surface, our circumstances are very different. For me, achieving my vision of the American Dream will be hard work. In contrast, the boys will be forever held back by the fact that they are illegally in the United
Even since the first thirteen colonies seceded from Great Britain in 1776, this land has been a beacon of light and hope for those looking for a fresh start. It did not matter whether they were trying to escape their homeland due to war or if they were just looking to start over, America was their chance to for the freedom to do what they wanted. This is where the “American Dream” arose from. According to Dictionary.com, the American Dream is defined as “The ideal that every U.S. citizen should have an equal opportunity to achieve success and prosperity through hard work, determination, and initiative.” While this definition may be true, I believe that there is much more to it. I believe that the American dream is different for each and every person. Literature is a great medium to see this idea in. The Luck of Roaring Camp by Bret Harte, Chicago by Carl Sandburg, and I Have a Rendezvous with Death by Alan Seeger are all example in literature of how the American dream can vary from person to person and does not have just one rigid definition.

To me, the american dream means stability and happiness. Within stability and happiness, you should be able to strive for what you can reach for with the opportunities provided for you. Opportunities may include jobs and education. My idea of stability is having enough money and survival necessities. Even though everyone might achieve the american dream differently, everyone is capable of achieving it. While some people are born into it, some have to work hard to achieve. To a certain extend, I have achieved the american dream because my family have always been financially stable, so I am stable. Even though I am happy now, I think that more happiness will come once I achieve things on my own.
To some the American dream can be making a lot of money or to be really famous or to just find a good job. The dream. The American Dream to me, means that anyone and everyone can come to America and have their dreams come true for them. That you can grow strong being in this county, we have a lot more opportunities handed to Americans that not all countries have. When I think of the american dream i think of other countries and how they try so hard to get to the land of the free and to get where we are today. They would do anything to be here. While people in america have most things handed to them, other countries don't, the jobs opportunities we have are limitless with just a little school and education we can get to where we need to be. The american dream is not just based for only americans it can be for anyone no matter the race, gender, ethnicity, religion, etc. We have different beliefs but it all leads to what? How are we going to get it? How long will it take me to reach my goal? And who is gonna be by my side when i’m trying to achieve this goal. The American Dream is opportunity, freedom, and education.

Everyone has their own dream. It could be the same dream others have, or it could be the complete opposite. I believe the American dream is not just one dream, it is whatever somebody wants it to be. Someone’s dream might not be perfect or even a dream at all to others, but as long as it’s perfect to them, it’s their American
