improvements to a cars safety systems have improved every year, the safety of riding a motorcycle have remained unchanged. The advantage of driving a car is that in the event of an accident, the driver and passengers have numerous safety systems that could ultimately save their lives, such as; seatbelts, anti-lock brakes, airbags, and electronic crash avoidance systems. The disadvantage of riding a motorcycle is that the only safety devices the rider has is in the gear they choose to wear. The most important safety equipment a rider can wear is a helmet, neck brace, chest and spine protector, leather gloves and over the ankle boots. Unfortunately, even if the rider wears everything, it is almost certain that the rider will be severely injured or killed in a major accident. The last thing to think about is the passenger and storage capabilities of the vehicle Having the capability to carry both passengers and cargo is the last and most important determining factor in the decision of buying a car or a motorcycle. A car has the advantage if the person has a family or intends on carrying passengers, with the capability to carry up to five passengers, where a motorcycle can only carry one. Also, with the average cargo capacity of 14.7 cubic feet makes the car advantageous if the person regularly carries any amount of cargo. The cargo carrying capability of a motorcycle is extremely limited to
Another lightweight vehicle is the motorcycle, they weight anywhere between five hundred and eleven hundred pounds. Motorcycles do not have any doors, two or three wheels, and can seat at the most two. There are many manufactures that produce different types of motorcycle, such as Harley Davidson, Suzuki, Kawasaki, and Honda. The different types of motorcycle are sport, cruiser, and chopper is the most common type. A sport bike is really lightweight with a relatively big engine. Cruisers are mid weight to heavy and are designed to travel longer distances. Choppers are heavy, loud, and typically have handlebars above the shoulders. These vehicles are also known for their small gas tanks along with their tremendous gas mileage.
The quality of engineering and the safety are other essential points that the marketing plan should include. These parameters are important for both age groups. Having certain extra safety features on the motorcycles can contribute to the need of the younger buyers. Because there funds are low there has to be consideration toward what is affordable. There are possibilities that parents might help to purchase. Within seeing the extra safety features on the car. Quality of engineering is important to the life of the motorcycle. Indeed this will assure the long lifespan and the quality put into all products sold by this organization.
Simms makes an important move, “1.2 million people across the world are killed in road crashes each year and 50 million injured” (qtd. in Simms 542). This fact shows that Simms acknowledges that car crashes result in many deaths a year; however SUV’s by almost any measurements, are more dangerous than cars. Next Simms provides more supporting facts. “People driving or riding in a sport utility vehicle in 2003 were nearly 11 percent more likely to die in an accident than people in cars” (qtd. in Simms 542). Simms also states that due to the size of an SUV, they suffer from greater rear view blind spots. Which he stated may account for the number of parents who killed their children by running over them. These strong facts speak for themselves; and bring an emotional appeal to the reader. A child dying in any circumstance promotes sadness.
This is usually an issue as everyone who rides a motorcycle wears leather, to protect themselves incase they fall of, as leather is tough and is quiet resistant to tearing. Many people also go to bars and if they are going by themselves a motorcycle is cheaper to get around.
Once families could afford two cars because of the lowering price, many women could now drive. African Americans could now drive as well; putting them at the wheel gave them new respect. The car also enables people to make a decision to go somewhere and leave immediately, no more waiting for a bus or a train. Cars gave Americans the freedom to move to other cities and start new lives. Although some people say that cars are dangerous because of accidents, there are many accidents involving trains, planes, and buses as well. Some may continue with “Cars are polluting the environment,” But other forms of transportation pollute just as much as
America’s modern society thrives on the need for personal vehicles. The desire to be an individual is evident in the choice of a car; it states personality and class, and it represents independence and freedom. However, if it was not for World War II, cars would not be what they are today.
Motorcycles are growing in popularity around the nation, but many people are worried about their
Thesis statement: Technology in cars have evolved so much during the last years that we can’t figure out which one to thank when it saves our lives, or when it makes our lives easier. Which is why I’ll talk about as much as I can during the time I am given
Motorcycle Insurance is a provision of financial protection in the event of an accident, loss, theft or any damage to your motorcycle. This includes liability coverage for any property damage or injuries that were endured to the other person.
Technology has brought many luxuries to people. The invention of the automobile has brought convenience to everyday living. People use their vehicles to commute to work, school, home, and other events. Some people cannot even imagine living life without the use of an automobile. People have different tastes in the type of automobile that they drive; the automotive industry has made several different ways to commute. The car and the sports utility vehicle seem to be the most common types. The sports utility vehicle is inferior to the car.
The compulsory wearing of helmets does reduce the number of fatalities associated with motor cycling and pedal cycling accidents. Data from a variety of studies overwhelmingly supports this fact. When discussing motorcycle helmets, there is a 40% prevention of fatal and 13% prevention of nonfatal serious injuries associated with their use, according to Adam, et al. (1453). After Florida repealed its mandatory helmet law in favor of one that allowed helmets for those over 21 with $10,000 in insurance to be optional, motorcycle fatalities increased across the state (Hooten and Murad, 1329). According to Boone, et al., the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) estimated that the use of helmets prevented 1,630 deaths in 2013 and could have prevented 715 more if all motorcyclists wore helmets (3). In a study of almost 17,000 patients admitted to the hospital for motorcycle crashes, 37% of the riders were not wearing helmets. These 37% accounted for 69% of the deaths among these patients (Dua, et al. 1184).
According to me, the motorcycle industry is very attractive. The main reason to back my claim is the level of competition in the industry. There is a very high level of completion between all the companies present in this particular segment. The main factors that drive this rivalry are different positions of different players within the industry, differences in technical know-how, different marketing campaigns, differences in core nature of the products and differences in strategies. The players in this particular industry don’t fight over price of their products, they rather compete with each other in terms quality of their products and the nature of their services to different segments of customers. Each player had its own unique strategy and nature of the product for a particular segment of customers, this tends to intensify the competition amongst companies in the industry.
SUV’s have become the center of a large controversy in the last couple of years. Many studies have been conducted on the relation to the economy and the popularity of the SUV. The sport utility vehicle not only affects the economy with its gas-guzzling capabilities during a time of war, but with the safety questions that have continued to arise.
