As popular characters of the outstanding TV series Gossip Girl, Chuck Bass and Dan Humphrey are my two most-liked characters. I admire how they are two completely different people, who come from different backgrounds. Dan is the typical nerdy boy who can only get into an elite school by receiving scholarships for his intelligence. Chuck on the other hand is a wealthy, greedy, and obnoxiously captivating boy who buys people like Dan Humphrey to do his school work while he handles a part of his father’s business and “womanizes” any girl his father’s money can buy. These two share an abundant amount of contradictions.
Chuck is portrayed as an opulent and conceited vile boy in this popular series; with all of his rich and fame he is truly the most well-known character for assertiveness and the fact that he goes everywhere in a limo. Even though he has a beastly personality, when it comes to the one who he truly loves and adores he breaks down into a charming man- unless it is his father. He receives abusive and neglecting treatment from his father. Which is why he carries around so much hate in his heart because he never received the caring love of his father.

Dan in this series, because he is poor, nerdy, and of course not attractive. He is considered the underdog or “lonely boy” of this series, but because of a school dance he becomes a “somebody” when he punched Chuck Bass for trying to rape his sister. After that, Dan becomes noticed by everybody, including the girl of his dreams Serena van der Woodsen. Dan becomes a hero in Serena’s eyes, and a threat in Chucks’. I personally adore Dan’s heroic personality and the fact that he works for what he

Dan Beth was born in 1970, and lived his childhood through from 1974 through 1983. His family consisted of his father, mother, his sisters, Linda, Debra, Cindy, and Martha, and his brothers, David, Gary, and Melvin. A typical day for Dan was going to school, coming home to do homework, eating dinner, and then going to the golf course to sell golf balls. When he wasn’t working he hanged out with his brothers and friends. They rode bikes, played kick the can, or wandered around the neighborhood.
Less complex of a character than Perry Smith, Dick Hickock undoubtedly deals with conflict in the latter part of his life that causes his mental state of mind to become impaired. Hickock, unlike Smith, endures a fair childhood. He is born into a “semi-poor” home, in which his parents rarely fight (Capote 277). Indeed, he respects his parents, and in turn, they prove loving toward him throughout his life. Involved in copious sports and attaining mostly A’s, his future seems bright. However, with no real money to pursue a college education, he turns toward the workforce. At his second job, he is involved in a car accident, which leads to the ruin of his mental state. Left for several hours unconscious, and with a “serious head injury,” he was not, as his father stated, “the same boy” (Capote 166, 294).
Dunstan Ramsey comes of age as he moves from childhood into his teen years. At the age of sixteen, the small landscape of Deptford becomes too much for Dunstan to handle so he decides to drop out of high school and join the Army. It is evident that Dunstan needs a change in his life and something to get his mind of the impact that Mrs. Dempster had on Dunstan childhood. Leading up to leaving for the War Dunstan never really saw much of Mrs. Dempster because every time he saw her he could not hold back his guilt and remorse, which continues to trouble him in his teen years. Like many other young men, Dunstan is thrown into the chaos of the war, converted by the front lines and beginner to rifles and survive. Thus, this affects him in many ways,
Even with their similarities, the underlying cause of their personalities is what sets the characters up to become very different people. Chuck has an overwhelming urge to do the right thing, and genuinely suffers
From a bullying brother, Charlie, to a Nana with Alzheimer’s, Henry finds little support and solace on the home front. Henry reconnects with Audrey Dorn, his best friend from when Jesse was alive and finds comfort from their mutual loss. A new arrival in Henry’s life, Diego Vega, a transfer student new to Calypso, provides Henry a needed friend and confidant. A quirky science teacher, Ms. Faraci, continually encourages Henry to keep his grades up and things do get better after high
I believe that Chuck is the static character in the story the Maze Runner. His character stays the same throughout the story. He stays funny, kind, friendly and loyal to Thomas. He helps Thomas when he first
The human mind is one of the last domains not fully permeated by any individual in history. It is the one place completely able to withhold secrets, being invisible to the naked eye. As this first statement is true, this would mean there are many individuals living normally in society that are emotionally compromised and disturbed. In many instances, these individuals are unperceivable until they have committed an action worthy of further consideration. Until that moment they dwell with the common folk, just needing a trigger to ignite their actions. Many reasons for these unlawful actions have been brought up, being an ongoing debate to this very day. Many say that one of the main reasons these emotionally compromised individuals act
He is subject to domestic abuse by his father and is a drug user, storing marijuana in his locker. This reflects on his attitude. He is intimidating to the others and calls out the others for how lucky they are and makes fun of them for being soft. Him and claire will hate each other one minute and like each other the next. At the end they end up together. Andrew Clarke is a person that who is not afraid to stand up to people who either hunting him or his friend. Andrew is confident on the outside, but on the inside he wasn't sure who he was because he committed to stay as who he is right now, if he were to change then he would be disappointing his father. He is basically kind hearted, well mannered, and despite what seems like a lack of confidence will stand up for himself. He also knows that what he did to Larry Lester was wrong. Andrew's true compassion and good heart shows when he admits that he felt bad for doing, and ashamed because he knew that the nerdy boy would have to go home and face his father after the humiliation. He treats the other characters well besides John Bender which they always get into heated arguments. Brian Johnson portrays the high school nerd and he belongs to the subcultural group of what his peers call “geeks”. is seen as an intelligent and happy individual to others. But in reality brain is not happy with his life. He is constantly pressured by his parents to do well in school and his expectation for the future soon become out of his reach. When Brian is overloaded with this constant pressure it backfires upon a bad grade he receives. Brains self-confidence is shattered as his dependable great marks have failed to give him motivation. He treats all characters nicely because he looks up to them and sees them as his
Just by looking at him, you aren't going to know that Dan Savage is a newspaper column writer for 'The Stranger,' that founded 'It Gets Better,' a multimedia organization to inspire and assist LGBTQ+ youth.
Throughout the movie, the channels of NVC convey to the watcher how Chuck is adapting, i.e., how much time has passed, his personal journey, and his change in ideals, etc. When he gets on the plane, his clothes are fitted, he is wearing long pants, socks, shoes, an undershirt, a button up dress shirt, and a sweater. His hair is short and facial hair nearly non-existent. After he crashes he is soaked, weighted down, his sweater is stretched, pants are hanging past his feet, he has lost his shoes and only has one sock. Quickly, he adapts to his environment; his pants get shorter, his shirt comes off, he commandeers shoes and alters them for his benefit. His hair begins to get longer, which is very evident in his facial hair, and his skin starts to show sun spots and become tan. As four years pass he is wearing nearly nothing, his hair is savage like, long, untrimmed, and not maintained. His skin is so tanned he appears leathery, and he has lost so much weight his skin hangs off of his bones. His appearance, and artifacts help distinguish time, and how he has adapted and learned to survive over it.
Chuck ends up developing this type of character development when he is reunited with Kelly. He expects everything to go back to normal after he will be with Kelly. His relationship with Kelly changes after he finds out that she had moved on with her life, has children and is married. Chuck understands that, just like time, you must move forward. On the island Chuck has a volleyball companion named Wilson. He becomes emotionally attached to this object to keep himself less alone on the island. After Chuck loses Wilson in the ocean, Chuck feels
Wilson, a volleyball who became Chuck’s only companion as he was stranded was who kept him sane during the time they were together. Chuck’s physical needs were being met by Wilson as Chuck was able to maintain his ability to keep up with enough physical activity for him to be able to gather and create tools they would both need to survive, such as starting a fire. As Chuck Argues with Wilson, he fulfills his identity needs by believing that his argument makes him a more logical, smarter person. Chuck is also able to meet his social needs as he uses Wilson’s presence as a listening one he could use to share ideas he had throughout time.
When it was time for Winter Ball he was all alone and trying to get back with his ex. After many failed attempts Chuck was yelled at by one of her friends, she screamed “She doesn’t like you, get away from here, and get a life”. The next day his parents discovered his body hanging shower. Many teens have a story similar to this where they fear being a outcast and being made fun of by their peers, or having a wrecked social life(Inside Suicide, 5).
Gossip Girl is a tv show about a group of four rich, snobby Upper East side teenagers and how a nobody from Brooklyn gets involved with them. Chuck Bass, whose father, Bart, is the owner of the New York Palace hotel and a self-made millionaire, is the manipulative, “bad boy” of the group. Nate Archibald, also the son of a successful businessman, is considered the “golden boy” and best friends with Chuck. Blaire Waldorf is the “Queen Bee” of the Upper East side and is best friends with Serena van der Woodsen, who is the “it girl” that everyone wants to be. These four characters are socialites and can’t hide anything from the relentless blogger whose identity is unknown until the series finale. Dan and Jenny Humphry, from a middle-class family in Brooklyn, are forced to fight for what they want and obtain their goals through hard work and dedication, unlike the rest of the privileged characters. Whenever something scandalous happens, a mass text message is sent out to all Upper-East siders that always ends as “You know you love me, XOXO Gossip Girl.” It is found out in the last episode of the series that Gossip Girl has been Dan the whole time, and he used this blog to work his way into the Upper East side to eventually win Serena’s love.
