His music played an important role in many movements in Jamaica and all over the world. The most famous one is the fight against apartheid in South Africa. Dancing is also important in Jamaica. A famous proverb in Jamaica, is that “those who can’t dance, blame it on the music”. In all african countries, music and dancing is really normal and it’s like this in Jamaica too. Americans are among the wealthiest people in the world. Most of us US citizens do not fully realize how much poverty is out there in the world. Traveling internationally is a privilege that is often dreamed about by many people worldwide. We see postcards and pictures of places wishing that we could see the palm trees, the turquoise water, and the sandy beaches. But what the postcards do not portray is the dark and mysterious world that lies behind the pictures. The pictures made me feel very excited about traveling to Jamaica. Going to the bahamas has always been a dream of mine, because it seems fun and I honestly love getting on water rides and I love the ocean and all the animals. I would stay at the bahamas for a while because there is a lot of places to visit.

The island of Jamaica is very rich in culture and has many historic turnabouts throughout the years. The country has a rich and complex history including being the first country to have Arawak and Taino Indians settle there.

For as long as I can remember, St. Johns Lutheran Church has been like a second home. It is the church where I was baptized (for a second time), took first communion and affirmed my faith through confirmation. I belonged at St. Johns. I was a member of St. Johns.

In August of 2010, our church embarked on a work and witness trip to Jamaica. The group consisted of two teams, a work and a ministry team. The work team assisted the people of Westmoreland to complete their local church. The ministry team presented bible stories and skits through puppetry at various locations. This Mission was called "Maddy's Mission".

When travelling there are many places you can go visit, whether it be to visit friends and family or just for vacation. Most people think of going to somewhere warm and sunny, like the Bahamas. Don’t be average and pick the Bahamas to go to for vacation. I think you should come to Chicago. Chicago has many different activities to choose from year around. Oh and our food is exquisite!

If I had a ticket to go anywhere, I would go to jamaica because it is where i was born , and i love and miss what the beautiful country has to offer. Jamaica has lots to offer such as food,fruits,animals,hot weather and last but not least the beautiful beaches. In tenth grade I was enrolled in conformation class at my parish church. This was the first time I had really started getting involved with my Church parish. The big event everyone was talking about for the upcoming summer was the mission trip to Jamaica. My first thoughts about this trip were to stay away from it. I found myself not wanting to get involved with a huge event like this. Leaving the United States is something that I have never done before. A whole week away from home is something that scared me at the time. I kept it in the back of my head throughout the year and the time came to make my decision. The decision I made would, without me realizing it, change my life forever. My trip to Jamaica would teach me just how blessed I am.

Jamaica is a land of diverse cultures. It has a number of different racial ethnic groups .The largest group however is the blacks or Africans so 'Jamaica’s culture' is predominantly black. Interwoven is also the European culture which these blacks learnt from their former white slaves masters. You will find Indians living in Jamaica also. Many Indians came to Jamaica as indentured servants and stayed, they too have an input in the Jamaica’s culture.

Choosing vacations destinations can become a stressful process. However, if the goal is to find locations outside of the United States and wan to travel to countries in the Caribbean and Latin America I have a few suggestions for you. Negril, Jamaica and Cancun Mexico are among the best vacations spots I have ever visited. The beaches, the accommodations, and the food is amazing in both countries.

Each and every person has their own idea of paradise. Millions of vacations are taken on every continent each year, and each country, state, and town holds an entire different world of adventure. For some, a beach with a calm breeze maximizes relaxation, for others, it may be a frigid mountain top. I, on the other hand, enjoy all sorts of vacation types. I enjoy fast pace adventure just as much as I enjoy slow pace admiration. Both Cologne and Kingston will most definitely provide me with the vacation of a life time, but my overall experience with each will differ in the way that I will travel, the excursions I will take, and the food that I will eat.
