1. Introduction
This assignment is about critically analyzing and comparing the Toyota Company and Volkswagen.
1.1 Introduction of Toyota
Toyota Motor Corporation is a multinational company and the 3rd largest automotive manufacturing company in the world, but most profitable and is headquartered in Toyota city, Japan. It produces cars, robots, buses and trucks. It was founded in 1937 and launched its first car (SA Model) in 1947. It has 56 manufacturing companies in 26 countries and 6 continents and producing a vehicle after every 6 seconds. It has annual sales of about $120 million and produces around 5.5 million cars every year and went up to produce as much as 10 million vehicles in 2012. It has more than 300,000 employees and revenue of about ¥27.234 trillion per year according to 2015 financial report. Its slogan is “Let’s Go Beyond”.
1.2 Introduction of Volkswagen
Volkswagen is the German based automotive manufacturing company as well as the largest in Europe and 4th largest in the world. It was established in 1937. It operates over 61 manufacturing units in Europe as well as 6 in other part of the world and its area of operation is in over 150 countries. It has three cars in the top ten best selling cars of all the time and in 2014, its production output was 10.14 million vehicles and is ranked 9th in the fortune global 500 list of the world’s largest companies. At present, it has over 600,000 employees all around the world and its revenue is about €213.292 billion…
