Native Americans are a group of people that lived in America before European settlers colonized here. Native Americans had practiced several traditions. Traditions that would be considered strange to our ways of life. They did not have writing they only had speech and inscriptions. Since they only spoke their were many stories called myths. A myth is a traditional story, especially one concerning the early history of a people or explaining some natural or social phenomenon, and typically involving supernatural beings or events. Many myths were believed in by the people that are speaking about it. Since Native Americans only had speech they had lots of myths that had been Strongly believed in. Two Myths of Native Americans is the Navajo origin Legend and the Walam olum. Even though they are both Native American Myths doesn’t mean they are going to have that many similarities. A difference between the two Myths of the Walam olum and the Navajo origin their beliefs on how the world started, and human creation. The Navajo Origin is a belief of the Four gods as the Walam olum had the Great manito. Their two to Legends with different ways of Creation. The Four Gods had come from four different directions East,West,North,South. All the Gods came together with spirits to create Man and Woman from Two buckskins, Two sticks of corn, with two eagle feathers and the wind.A befor the Walam olum Myth the Great Manito had started everywhere and nowhere endless darkness. He than created the land, and the sky. The sun the moon the stars. The Native Americans that had told this story he was the God of all men, women, even the other Gods that roam around the earth.
