Romeo: Homie got a prob with love Romeo is a Montague, rival to the Capulet family. This is bad because he involves himself with Juliet who is a Capulet and they end up getting married. I decided to pick this character to analyze because I thought he was the most interesting to and is a main character. Personally, I do not identify with this character because he is not like who I am and he is completely not my type to date, but on the other hand I like his personality and heart. I like the way that he is a nicer guy who cares for who he dates, but I think that he cares too much to the point where he kills himself for a girl, and I wouldn’t want someone that clingy in my life. I believe that Romeo’s main attributes of himself are that he is
In the story Romeo & Juliet, I believe that it could have ended differently. Say that Romeo cried just a little longer. Then Juliet would have woke up and they would just move on as planned. Or they could have just left in the first place not telling anyone so they wouldn't have to worry about faking their death or being seperated. Lastly if Romeo didn't kill Tybalt then the two families wouldn't have went to the prince and they wouldn't have to worry about the prince finding out that it was Romeo that killed Tybalt and that Romeo's life would be on the line.
In The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare and "Pyramus and Thisbee" by Ovid are stories about teenagers who face obstacles that complicate the love story which causes them to make desperate decisions in the end. Both of them have many similarities. However, they have small details that are different. Throughout each story, these decisions lead to complicated endings. In the beginning, in Romeo and Juliet and "Pyramus and Thisbee" they both have similarities through the connections of objects.
"Pyramus and Thisbe" by Ovid has a similar tragedy as William Shakesphere's Romeo and Juliet but is told in a different form. " Pyramus and Thisbe" and Romeo and Juliet both have ideas of how love will turn people into making bad decisions. These two stories are written into different plots. In "Pyramus and Thisbe" their parents forbid their love but in Romeo and Juliet their parents are feuding. In the story it says, "...in houses so close together that one wall was common to both.
The tale of Romeo and Juliet is extraordinary. The original story is very good and very well written. The more modern story is very different from the original. In the original the families hate each other, in the modern the families are actually friends. This is what I found to be the same and different about the two stories.
The Film “Romeo+Juliet” showed the effective way Shakespeare’s version had intended, but it had some flaws. The scenes were effective in a way and added mood to the original Shakespeare version of the play. Not exactly everything was added from Shakespeare’s version to the film such as change in words, meanings and the way the plot was presented as in Paris wasn’t killed by Romeo or Juliet’s aftermath of drinking the potion. Now the film itself showed the famous story of Romeo and Juliet, but it also added genres that the play did not have except for some which the idea of the making a film could’ve been different if comedy and tragic moments were not added.
DiCaprio did it right, the other two movies were ‘meh’, but DiCaprio hit it on the nose. Shakespeare’s original play was a story of love and loss, all three of those movies perfectly captured that. Matt sucks. The style of movie the 1996 and 2014 version used is very enjoyable, the whole newage Romeo and Juliet. The older story portrays Shakespeare’s original idea of how the play should look. Though, the acting was sub-par on the older version. Many things can be learned from the rivalry of the Capulets and Montagues, those things are displayed differently in all three pieces. All three unique, yet also the same in ways. But first, the older movie.
Does recreating William Shakespeare play, Romeo and Juliet, help audiences understand the play more? The director of the movie Romeo + Juliet Combines a modern city with Shakespeare’s original language, it’s relatable with this generation, and the movie will keep you on the edge of your seat. The 1996 movie Romeo + Juliet should be used to help teach in the classroom because it combines a modern city with Shakespeare’s language, it is more relatable to this generation, and is a movie that will keep you on the edge of your seat. The movie combines a modern city, Verona Beach, with Shakespeare's native language. The characters’ use words, such as, thee, Ay, thy and the language explains exactly what they will or are doing.
I’m starting at where Romeo killed Tybalt, and switching it. A friend of Romeo is angry and kills Tybalt. The Prince is disgusted in how this senseless feud and fighting has become. Then it switches to Juliet, sitting in her room after hearing the news. She cries at first, but cannot cry anymore for Tybalt. Her mother comes in and they talk. Juliet tells her mother that she will willingly marry Paris, but only if they let her wait for a week and mourn for her cousin. Her mother, happy, runs to tell her husband the news. He’s just as happy that she’s being “reasonable”. Juliet, however, has different plans. She plans to run away. She just doesn’t know how though. Three days pass, and juliet still mourns for her cousin, but her mind is on Romeo. A girl
Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare in 1595. Since the play was written in 1595 it is based off of how things were back then, there are no guns, or cars, or cellphones. Since the writing of the play there have been several retellings in the form of movies. The 1968 version of the movie is based directly off of the original story and there were very few differences between the text and the movie. The 1996 version of the movie is more of a modern retelling of the story. The lines used in the play and the movie are identical but the setting and some of the events that take place are different. Now I am going to tell you some of the differences between the movies and the play in 3 specific
Romeo and Juliet are known across the world for their deep love for one another, but, in reality, did they even know each other? Did they ever have the chance to develop a true love for one another or were they just teenagers, acting off impulse? Did they truly want the best for the other person, or did they just want the other person? First, we must examine the qualities of real love and the difference between true love and infatuation. We must look into the relationship between Romeo and Juliet, or the lack thereof, and determine whether or not Romeo and Juliet had enough time to get to know each other before they lunged into the deep commitment of marriage.
The play Romeo and Juliet, by William Shakespeare is accurate compared to the time in history that he was writing his story in. The story takes place in Verona, Italy, a place that was "culturally rich and commercially successful," according to EXPLORING Shakespeare, 2003. Verona was a very lively town but, like many other places in Italy, it was subject to violence and war. We see this in the multiple fights that take place in the story. In this time period, there was also "division between supporters of the Emporer and supporters of the Pope," according to EXPLORING Shakespeare, 2003. This could be symbolized by the fact that the Capulets and Montagues were rivaling families. The violence and division of the people are closely tied factors
I recently went to go see Romeo and Juliet the play by William Shakespeare and I was really impressed by the acting and the story line of this play. The actress for Juliet really went for her role and was clearly invested in the role. The actor for Romeo really punched himself to fulfill this role and put forward the role of Romeo. We saw a beautiful array of costumes and an elaborate set and props.
In music and in literature, there is a demonstration as to where a male character conveys his love and affection towards a female character. The song “Michelle” is performed by artist Sir Paul McCartney at the White House. In “Michelle” the male character expresses his feelings and emotions through speaking French because the woman that he is speaking to does not speak English and he wants her to understand. The play The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is written by author William Shakespeare. Romeo lays eyes upon Juliet for the first time and he expresses his emotions for her through the words that he speaks. His enthusiastic response soon reveals that Romeo believes that Juliet is the most beautiful girl he has ever seen. After examining both
He’s gone. He’s actually gone. I never thought he would leave me. I never thought he would end up dead. Yes I ran from him, yes I was cruel… I was only protecting myself. My heart was broken before and I knew it was to happen again, so I ignored him so no feeling wou’d come of my sad heart. And then he came to a Capulet party. My uncle’s party. He came for me. He was so persistent, so kind through my hate. Then he runs off with my dear Juliet. I know I did’t love him, everyone knows that, but he didn't have to run off with my cousin… I shouldn't be mad at her, she couldn’t have known, I was as cold as a winter's night. No, I was worse than that, I don’t know how he could have even loved me for as long as he did. Of course he couldn’t have loved me that much if when he
I have always been interested in Greek and Roman mythology their roles in modern society. Erebus and Aurora is a spin on Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet”. I changed the Capulets into Romans and the Montagues into Greeks. This allowed me to shown my own interpretation of Romeo and Juliet and give insight into how I view the personalities of the gods. Since the publication of Percy Jackson in 2005, people have become more interested in the Greek and Roman Gods so I think that Erebus and Aurora will appeal to a modern audience.
