The long note versus the shorter notes are obvious because the notes are stretched out to the ear. The obvious crash sound in the song Riverboat Shuffle gives the illusion to one that is interpreting it that the composer might be facing hard times in life. Crashing sounds are psychologically wired to our brains as a scary sound that makes us jump if it’s very loud. Humans link crashing sounds to danger and as a warning sound to other animals to stay away. The low note of the trombone is obvious because it is not the usual notes that a trombone would play making it weird to listen to. Just like a very high pitch is uncomfortable to the ear a low pitch is also uncomfortable to listen to. The vocals in the West End Blues is obvious to the ear when comparing the two this should be the one thing that is obvious that is different from both

The Piano Lesson is a masterpiece in itself, earning a Pulitzer Prize in 1990. However, this particular play has elements not typical of modern plays. It has the quintessential plot that encompasses a conflict. On the surface, the conflict is between Boy Willie and his sister, Bernice. However, beneath that conflict, lies the symbolism of the characters. Boy Willie symbolizes the American way or the white man's culture. Bernice is the African-American way, staying true to her roots and not parting with the heritage. Although she finds this painful, she will not part with her heritage. Her heritage is tangible in the presence of the piano itself. Within the presence of the piano, August Wilson
The one song that stuck out to me the most was the Peer Gynt Suite No. 1: II The Death of Ase. This score was composed by Edward Grieg and was published in 1908, a year after he died (Classic FM). One element of sound that was very apparent to me during this piece was the pitch. This is the relative highness of lowness of sound (116). In this piece there are very distinct pitches. The violins give off the higher tone, where as the cellos contribute the lower tones in the pitch. The faster the instruments play the higher

The History of the Piano The piano has seen many sights and has been a part of countless important events in the past and present, and is said to have dominated music for the past 200 years (Welton). Throughout history, inventions come along that "take art away from princes and give it the people" (Swan 41). Not unlike the printing press, the piano made what was once intangible possible: the poorest of peasants could enjoy the same music that their beloved rulers did. The piano can be played by "the rankest of amateurs, and the greatest of virtuosos" (Swan 41); so even if a person is not very intelligent, a simple tune can easily be learned.
Because Macbeth attempts to gain power and prove himself as a man by killing Duncan, his eventual descent into what can be called madness and thirst for more and more power only consolidates the idea that power corrupts and twists the mind. In Macbeth, gender roles are alluded to several times during the play. FOr example, Macbeth goes through stages of doubting his manliness when he is afraid. “My thought, whose murder yet is but fantastical,/ shakes so my single state of man" (1.3 152-123).
Tori Kadotsuke Hachigaeshi’s sound of the flute is very deep and hollow when listening to the guided example. It differs from the Western flute by occasionally, there are notes that extend into high notes. On the other hand, the Western flute sounds immensely tune and precise. The Western flute has more of a higher note in the pitch and volume. Tori Kadotsuke’s sound is more capable towards different genres and themes because the flute sound is split into three octaves and a pentatonic scale. With this, unlike the Western flute, the Tori Kadotsuke flute can start with small tone notes and transition into more primary notes. There is also the Japanese Aesthetics of ma where it allows space between the beats and the sound to breathe.

However, despite the simplicity of its lines and keys (88 keys), 2-3 pedals on the modern piano, and either upright (vertical) or grand style (horizontal), the physics of the piano are both interesting and complex.
