This week in the field as an intern for the Department of Social Services, I was able to complete in-office tasks and complete a home visit with my supervisor. On Monday my supervisor informed me she and other coworkers were in need of creating a new resource manual that would be up to date with the current resources in the Midlands area. Therefore, one of the tasks completed this week was creating a resource manual that would have more resources with up to date numbers, addresses, and contact persons. During this process, I was able to understand the importance of workers having the manual up to date with more resources added to it. Competency skill 9 states a professional social worker, “Actively refers clients to community resources.” With this being required of a professional
On November 25 2014, President Obama announced his use of executive actions for immigration reform. One major change is the increase of Optional Practice Training time from seventeen months to twenty-nine months. Optional Practice Training or OPT is the time allowed for foreign students who have completed their studies in the U.S to stay and work. Many corporations hire these students to work in the fields of Science, Technology, Engineer or Mathematic or STEM. In “Senator Session Is Right: No STEM Worker Shortage”, Camarota argued the supply of STEM workers is abundant. His assumption is wrong base on salary trend and unemployment rate, the number of college graduates that supply STEM field, and political benefits due to President Obama’s
The challenges that I see are learning all the Century and Admin codes to the point of memorization,
I demonstrated several skills from chapter three in the book Interviewing for Solution. The skills I demonstrated were summarizing, composing questions, the use of silence, natural empathy, complimenting, and getting details. While doing this process recording, I was not paying attention to the skills I was using. After watching the process recording, I was amazed that I had used so many skills. Additionally, most of skills came naturally.
According to U.S. News, working as an RN is a very demanding job that is both physically and mentally demanding. To what extent do you think this is true?
I have checked my grades and they could have been better had I not misunderstood the assignment back in week 1. Nevertheless, my understanding of the instructions has grown and I am learning something new every day. My priorities from here forward are to stick to my schedule and work on my learning style. In order to be prepared for an unexpected computer glitch, I believe you should back up your work to more than one source in various locations. The likely hood of all of your backup sources failing is highly unlikely unless you keep them all in the same place. Hoping for the best and preparing for the worst is something I’ve learned. One thing that stood out to me last week was my skills assessment worksheet. Being honest with yourself

product, female entertainment accounts, accounts under age-18) that can only be effectively filtered by looking at the account itself one by one and excluding those accounts that have no interest in our arena.
I received a score of 33 out of 50 on my study skills assessment. I have a lot of room for improvement and I am not fully using my study strategies to the most potential. Currently my study habits include completing all homework assigned, studying for tests only a day or two before the assessment, and I make sure to mark any information I do not fully understand so that I can ask about it later. I take a full schedule of difficult coursework that occupies a lot of my time, stretching me thin. I find it troublesome to sit down and effectively study without becoming fidgety or frustrated. It would be beneficial to me to discover the best times and places that would give me the most out of my studying time. Another improvement would be to do weekly reviews on coursework to keep the information fresh in my mind. To keep me motivated and on track a schedule would be useful to aid in block out times to study one subject at a time. I definitely using some study skills to my advantage but there are a lot of skills that would benefit me that I haven’t quite tried.
As I evaluated my strengths and limitations I must say, in my opinion, I exemplified an excellent level of professionalism. I felt competent while using applicable theoretical approaches, social work skills and values that guided my practice. I identify biopsychosocial issues which prohibited my client’s well-being. Moreover, I was able to address the client’s needs using an eclectic knowledge base approach while using cultural sensitivity. I did not encounter any limitations that prohibited me from effective assisting the client.
Over the past eight weeks many self-improving skills have been obtained. In unit one we learned about multiple intelligences, growth mindset, and resilience. A growth mindset is simply believing that there is always room for improvement, and remaining positive, despite the challenging obstacles you may encounter. Over the past four weeks I have developed a growth mindset because, it has been proven that people with growth mindsets have higher quality performance over those with a fixed mindset. An example of my new growth mindset is that I now remind myself to not settle for mediocre performance but instead, work to my fullest potential. I now believe it is imperative that working towards goals requires the maximum amount of effort. You are not just born with skills, you acquire them. My major as of now is criminal justice and at first, I was very discouraged and did not perform well. However; over the last few weeks I have turned things around by applying myself and, seeking extra help. When I am confused about a topic I now make it a point to ask questions. Determining my intelligence has altered the way I approach academic and professional work. By doing so, I have learned my strong points and what fields I excel in. For example, learning that music, social and, body movement skills are my three highest strengths has helped me consider

My personal education goal is to create a study plan where I can have time to do my everyday activities. My number one thing to do is work. I have to work five days, sometimes six days per week. I found SAMRT goals as a very good tool to create a realistic study plan. Improving my math, writing, and reading skills are some of more important subjects as an English learner student because learning how to write and speak in an academic way is the number one object I should learn to fit perfectly in a professional environment, and because I like math. I also attached to do my best and work hard to get my degree as a personal and educational goal because

Psychological Skills Training might actually shorten the total rehabilitation time an athlete might face in a temporary injury, however, there are no studies that prove this. Psychological Skills Training might include counseling sessions with an athletic therapist, group sessions with other injured athletes, and motor imagery throughout whatever limb is injured so to speed up the recovery process.
