In order to succeed, one must compete. Competition can bring out the best in everyone. I had a high competitive spirit and zeal to learn from my schooling days and for the first time in my life I confronted rivalry in the test led by MESCO (Muslim Educational Society and Cultural Organization) in 7th standard and later I gave NTSE (National Talent Search Examination) in 10th standard. Around the same time, my grandfather turned out to be extremely debilitated and got admitted in hospital. It was the first occasion when I saw such a large number of doctors. I used to visit the hospital consistently to see my grandpa and interacted with a couple of doctors. My grandfather expired despite of enormous endeavors by the doctors. Medical profession moved me when I saw doctors serving poor and miserable patients. People respect doctors like next to the gods in my country. “Gulfam doctor”, a TV series like Dr. House fascinated my mother and she motivated me towards the career in medicine. After my 12th standard I gave EMCET (Engineering and Medical Common Entrance Test) and instantly I could secure a free seat in government medical school on basis of merit with a nominal annual fee of $150 a year. Medical school was extravagant with colossal learning and convivial with friends. In my final year, when I was in the ER, a patient arrived who was severely injured in a street car crash.
