You are presenting a seminar for new marketers on the topic of competitive gaming. Be sure to discuss positive-sum, negative-sum, and zero-sum games. Provide clear-cut examples for each. Discuss the ethics of the gaming. Research and share an example of a recent price war and how it turned out. Zero-sum, positive-sum, and negative-sum are terms that refer to the outcome of a dispute and all represent reward of compensation. The sector of professionals that I am addressing in this group is businessmen and the circumstance will be the frequently encountered one of negotiation where each tries to procure something from the dynamic. Zero-sum, positive-sum, and negative-sum can be also interpreted in more common ways as win-win, win-lose, and lose-lose situations. zero-sum situation This is the win-lose situation where it is impossible for one party to advance its position without the other suffering a corresponding loss. This is called a distributive bargaining situation where, for instance, money is being reallocated between departments. The more money one department gets, the less the other will receive. Another scenario is where one person will gain the job at the other's expense (only one will receive the position). Positive-sum- This is where the total of winnings and losses is more than zero.
