SIMULATION EXERCISE NUMBER : 1

TITLE : SWITCHED LANS
DATE OF SUBMISSION : 4/28/15

Topic Summary:

Because of the diverse network types, there need’s to be a way to interconnect various heterogenous networks. Switching and routing functions are implemented to establish proper loop free links, efficient and to the fact that networks aren’t static but have nodes which reboot, fail and may break. Network is to be configured and optimized to run on the hardware resources available. Bridges or LAN switches are used to interconnect Local-Area-Networks (LAN’s) like Ethernets. This lab summarizes different implementations and performance variations of switches between LAN’s and a suitable network can be designed based on the results.

Lab Objective:

To exhibit the execution of Switched Local Area Networks. The recreation in this lab will help you inspect the execution of diverse usage of Local Area Networks associated by Switches and Hubs.
