He told about his last two years of high school. And how it influenced what he would do for the rest of his life. During high school he decided to study Computer Science. He learned 3 languages Python, Java script, and HTML. With his knowledge of these languages when he got to college he excelled in his classes for Computer engineering, he’s now on track to graduate in two years and go straight into working with Google. He also does internships with them over the summer. After telling me all this he explained the importance of programmers in the world. Are society is growing more integrated with technology as every day passes. And the demand for programmers to connect people to the growing technology increases too.

In CTE3323 Technical Applications, the student covered the use and integration of computers in the classroom and the office. Topics included history of computers, computing hardware, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, desktop publishing, graphics, presentation software, the Internet, e-mail, and web-page creation. The course goals were to understand the basic history of the computer and of the Internet, develop basic knowledge of computer graphics programs, desktop publishing programs, database management programs, and programs unique to each instruction/trade/employment area. Additionally, topics such as the origins of the Internet, how to evaluate it, and use it for research were discussed.

As a freshman who is currently attending Harrisburg University of Science and Technology, I am currently interested in becoming a Graphic Designer. Growing up in the information age, everybody in my generation is influenced by computers. Not merely regarding computers as a toy or tool in my childhood, I was curious about the computer itself - how it works and what it can do for me. The first time I used programming was in primary school. Not printing “Hello, world” like others, I was able to draw pictures and even create games using Logo programming language. The charm of programming is very attractive to me. While in high school I participated in the National Olympiad in Informatics in Provinces (NOIP) and trained every day solving over 300 questions in total. Through unrelenting efforts, I was awarded first prize three times. Because of this experience I laid a solid foundation for my algorithm skills and it has taught me to always solve problems in a comprehensive way. Eventually, I was recommended for admission to the University of Science and Technology of China (USTC) because of my specialty in programming and superior academic skills.
