The computer has numerous uses in the work place; its ability to make work a little easier can be observed on a typical day in the bank or supermarket. The aim of this research is to explore the uses of different computers and similar systems in the business environment. This research will enable the learner appreciate the age of technology and how far it has come since its invention. This research will enlighten the reader on some of the computerized devices that they see around and its function in the environment they often see it in.

The computer has served as the accountant for most businesses once the formulas or values for an expected result have been inputted to the system. Some will say since its appearance the world has gotten lazier, busier and isolated. Others will argue that it has made life easier and more convenient.
Communications in business for example; has been upgraded from the usual one-on -one meeting in a board room, to video calls or conferencing from various locations at once. This allows a manager to tend to his suppliers in china, and order his lunch without leaving his office. The mobility of computers allows it usage in various environments; airports, hospital lobbies and homes. It may seem to have its perks but absolute reliance on the computer and its related devices could cause addictions, and in severe cases health problems.
Computers in business help to increase productivity. The consistent access to internet provides a medium to multi task; a clerk can read emails from customers, and respond to their inquiries and in the absence of duties; the computer can be a distraction in the place of business, tempting employees to browse instead of attending to their work duties. Proper training on computer use is essential for productivity to take place in the business environment. Employees with little or no knowledge of the computer may require training,
