Describe each of the five conflict types using paragraph form.
Pseudo conflicts:
Pseudo conflicts are not real conflicts, but they are perceived to be conflicts. They arise from false assumptions and false dilemmas. Best resolved by pointing out that there is no real conflict.
Fact conflicts:
Fact conflicts occur when individuals disagree about information. Best resolve by verifying the information to ensure that the facts are known to all parties. Some people dismiss facts that do not fit with their values this occurs often in politics.
Ego conflicts:
Ego conflicts are when a dispute centers are status or power. Often, this type of conflict will begin with some small issue, but as status and power start to play an influence the conflict will escalate.
Value conflicts:
Value conflicts are conflicts about personal beliefs. People often hold personal conflicts to be near and dear to them, and can be irrational in response to challenges to their values.
Need conflicts:
Needs conflicts occur when the needs of one individual clash with the needs of another. Often, there needs to be some effort to find a solution where the needs of both parties are being met. Sometimes as ego conflict masquerades as a needs conflict, in that a party will claim…
