Like I don’t want to be around them because I don’t know what they’re going to do if they are going to harm themselves or someone else around them. 2. The core values dignity and worth of a person, the importance of human relationships, and service. As a social work undergraduate, we have several queries regarding why it is so important to follow the NASW code of Ethics and values that relate to human diversity, with regard for the worth and dignity of all persons, as applied to a specific case where we are delivering social work. It is very essential to recognize the five core values of social work, service, social justice, dignity and worth of the person, importance of human relationships, and integrity and competence on our occupation of social work. Today, we have chosen two areas and situations of how we are going to deal with our biases and our challenges while working as social workers, by employing the NASW code of Ethics and values that relate to human diversity, with regard for the worth and dignity of all persons.
When the phrase “mental illness” is spoken, the immediate thought that pops into the individual’s mind is the extremes such as Schizophrenia, or Bipolar Disorder. However, the majority of mental disorders fall into the spectrum of quite common disorders such as Depression, Anxiety, or Obsessive Compulsion Disorder (OCD). Why should the first thing that people think of be negative? What makes people think this way? Society has a negative view of mental illness because of media portrayal, the attitudes of individuals, and skepticism, and the novel, The Catcher in the Rye, makes a connection to these views of the world.

Another ethical principles from the core values that I feel is strongly needed is social justice. I feel that is where Social Workers can make the most difference. Challenging the injustice vulnerable population face would help them get access to more resources. Question # 1: Why did you include each specific element? Discuss the elements you believe set the foundation for ethical behavior.
Scenario number one: I believe that in this scenario there is a moral obligation to act. I believe that as a police officer, even off duty, you know the laws and shouldn’t allow this to happen if you know it is wrong. I think that taking action is something that all police officers should do, even off duty because they are knowledgeable and know it isn’t the right thing to just let it go. This situation would require that the clerk at the counter gets in trouble because he is not abiding by the law. Selling these magazines isn’t a big deal, but it could be possible that this clerk was selling alcohol or cigarettes to minors as well. Goodwill is shown because it would be wrong for a cop to witness something he sees illegal happen, whether he is off duty or not he still knows the laws and the right thing to do would be to stop the clerk from selling minors the magazines. A deontologist would agree with me, all police officers should say something because they all have a duty to make sure others abide by the law. There should never be a situation in

“Brad is a production engineer at a bicycle company and part of his job includes inspecting broken bikes and drafting the design repairs for their repair” (Bartlett). Brad is considering replacing a broken brake cable with a more durable material, even though the customer did not request it in their order and specifically requested that “No aesthetic changes be made to the bike” (Bartlett). Brad’s manager suggests that his considered actions would go against the company’s policy of “The customer is always right.” Should Brad disobey the manager and the customer to possibly lose his job or go along with
