College students mostly get nervous about all the sudden work load that they face and may fail in many steps throughout their college life. They might end up needing help and professional advice on how to get good grades and survive their college. John Langan in “Three Keys to Doing Well in School” says (that) the three most important factors to a student’s success in college are attitude toward learning, good study skills and involvement with reading. Langan emphasizes on these three main points, sharing his opinion on how these keys are important and says that one should have much self-respect and determination to earn the reward by hard work rather than relying on luck. Furthermore, Writing and taking notes is another major key when it comes to enhancing study skills. Also, being organized and having a schedule setup for almost everything helps an individual to work on time and complete the assigned work ahead of time too. Reading is also an important step to better performance in school or college as it helps you think well, increases your vocabulary and helps you become a more successful person. These factors are some of the most important characteristics that a student should develop throughout his life to succeed in life as it helps build and strengthen the future of the student.

College is an important place that can lead us to a bright and successful future. College success is more than academics; for us it’s learning how to become an adult for the first time in our life. In college we will develop skills to have relationships with professors, counselors, and with our peers. The whole college experience enables us to truly succeed. Unlike high school, people don’t normally get one try to get it right the first time! College, for most is a critical development into adulthood. College teaches beyond the classroom and sheds light on certain attainable humanly characteristics. Such as: perseverance, hard work, integrity, love, admiration, and respect which allows one to find oneself using knowledge.

College is often a word that can bring positive or negative thoughts depending on one’s experiences. The process of being accepted, maintaining high standards once accepted, and then paying off debts is stressful. Once adapted to college, the most important task is determining what you want to do with your life. In the past few decades’ mindfulness has become an increasingly popular field of interest in psychology. Studies have displayed the positive effects of mindfulness techniques in relations to well-being. In the Study developed by Karen Caldwell, Mandy Harrison, Marianne Adams, Rebecca H. Quin, and Jeffery Greeson (2010), they are interested in the effects of movement-based courses increasing college student’s mindfulness, along with the examination of mindfulness improving the quality of their lives. The study reveals movement-based courses increases practicing mindfulness and significantly increase self-regulatory, self-efficacy, mood, and stress levels, allowing better sleep quality, be that as it may, they failed to directly connect the classes to the increase of the college student’s quality of life.

There are several qualities to have to be successful in college. These qualities can range from attending class to going above and beyond what’s expected. Success comes from the journey taken or the path chosen. Success also comes from being prepared. As a student, I must step up to the challenge and find the path to success along the way. Several ways I define success is to uphold academic integrity, have the ability to prioritize, and to motivate myself to stay on top of what needs to be accomplished.

Being a successful student may involve some of the characteristics such as: organization, time, studying, and believing you can achieve.

In conclusion, it is clear that being a good college student is not an easy task. It required good study habit, class attendance, time management and self-discipline. It is not easy but it worth the hard work. Because, as Jerome R. Breitenbach wrote, “the education you receive in college, and the attitude you develop, will guide you for the rest of your life. The classes I have taken have taught me how I learn the best and how to study more effectively. Many students are verbal learners, meaning they learn best by listening to material given to them. I, on the other hand, learn best by doing the activity myself. I never knew this fact about myself until after a very brutal physcology class. Also, college is said to be all memorization. I now know from experience that to pass and receive the degree being chased after, good study habits are a must. The very first test I took in college, I failed miserably. Different people wish to attain kinds of success but in order to fulfill your first success, college is a very important step and part to start with. Besides you need to make the necessary scarifies to accomplish you goals, your motivation and studies are also very important because your studies are dependent upon your motivation. A goal of this kind will determining the direction and degree of your motivation for itself and it can also make the different between success and failure.

It may be the first time you are on your own, the first time you left your parents, or even the first time you have been away from the safety of your hometown. And while, no, I do not anticipate that my experience in college will be without obstacle, I can say that I feel more prepared for the changes that are to come thanks to this lifelong experience. I have left “home” every one to five years for eighteen years. I have learned to care for myself, to be self reliant, and to care for my family while my father was gone. Moving to different towns, to different states and areas, has made me patient with people, patient with change, and patient with myself. The struggle of switching schools has taught me to be more responsible. The journeys that I have been on compels my being to leap into the next adventure, not to sit still in waiting. I am eager and ready for the changes that are to come, and with patience and perseverance, I am confident that I can overcome the hurdles that will be in my way. When you ask “What characteristics will help you to be successful?”, the common responses are “perseverance”, “responsibility”, “being adaptive”, and “having an optimistic attitude”.

Typically, college students face a lot of difficulties that can make their determination and degree completion
