Throughout Romeo and Juliet there are many themes that can be identified throughout the story. The main theme focused in the paper will be that an argument will affect all those around. The argument of course being the feud between Lord Montague and Lord Capulet. This argument begins to draw in the whole family and even others that are not even in the families. Due to the argument countless people died some of the major ones are Romeo, Juliet, Lady Montague, Tybalt, Mercutio, and Paris. The deaths of Romeo and Juliet are obvious as they could’ve been avoided if it was not for the feud they would have still fallen in love and lived a happy life together. Although, due to it their love was forbidden and they had to sneak around and Juliet would
Seal'd up the doors, and would not let us forth; So that my speed to Mantua there was stay'd.’What makes a story so compelling?(5.3.10-12) In Shakespeare's tragedy ‘Romeo and Juliet, the author makes fated occurrences to introduce the next event. In the story, many are fated occurrences that is not impacted by the decision of the characters but, happens naturally. Further, exploring these events will tells us how fate changes outcome.
This essay will explain why Romeo and Juliet gave their lives for each other. The main reason why Romeo and Juliet killed themselves, was because of the feud between their two families. In the Play, Romeo and Juliet cannot marry each other in a normal marriage because of the feud between the Montagues and the Capulets. Romeo and Juliet also killed themselves in the end of the play because of the miscommunication between Friar Laurence and Romeo, because of the banishment of Romeo from Vernon, and not being able to marry Juliet. Romeo was banished from Vernon because he killed Tybalt and was sent to Mantua, which is where the lack of communication happens. In the end of the play when the Montagues and the Capulets find out that Romeo and Juliet are both dead the two families decide to end the feud. Lady Montague in the end dies, because she finds out that her son Romeo ended up being banished from the city of Vernon.
Star-crossed lovers born to die and the consequences that followed. Romeo is a little too eager for love in this story. Romeo is constantly sad because he can’t find someone to love. In the story lots of people needlessly die and there is one good reason for the deaths. Romeo is mostly at fault for all the deaths in ‘’Romeo and Juliet’’ by William Shakespeare.
Johann Wolfgang Von Goethe, a German writer and author of Faust, once said, "Out of moderation, a pure happiness springs. " Living life at a moderate pace can refrain people from making and acting upon rash, unadvised decisions that they might regret in the long run. Instead, good and happiness can come from being moderate in life and love. In William Shakespeare's tragic play, Romeo and Juliet, the two protagonists, Romeo Montague and Juliet Capulet are from two separate feuding families, the Montagues and Capulets.
Today, I will talk about “Romeo and Juliet”. “Romeo and Juliet” is written by William Shakespeare about two young star-crossed lovers whole deaths ultimately reconcile their feuding families.
Fate is a concept many people believe is set right when you are born. In William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet he talks a lot about the concept of fate. My essay is about how significant events have no effect on a person’s fate. In the prologue it states this “ A pair of star-cross’d lovers take their life,” (Prologue, Line 6). That is now telling us no matter what happens in their lives, they will die to end the fued between the Montagues and the Capulets.
Fate is inevitable and unavoidable because it’s meant to happen, its destiny and can not be controlled and has either a negative or positive outcome. In Romeo and Juliet, there is a family feud between the Montagues and the Capulets and this impacts the young lovers because they're not supposed to be together due to the rancor between both families. Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet play shows how fate helps to bring about the unavoidable outcome of the young lovers’ deaths because the stars showed their fate, they fell in love by fate, and because their death was fate.
Looking up into the sky on a clear night, you should be able to see thousands of dazzling stars shining against the midnight blue. You might be in awe, amazed, or simply at peace, but have you ever thought about how these little beauties might take away your breath in more than one way? “Thank your lucky stars!” you might have heard someone say. This simple expression meant more than everything to the characters in Romeo and Juliet, for they believed their fate was truly written in the stars.
Actions often have unforeseen consequences, but sometimes, unforeseen consequences often lead people searching for the action that caused it. In general, people do not think about what a simple action may mean in twenty, thirty years, and, when those consequences catch up to them, search for a blame that should be on their shoulders. In William Shakespeare’s tragic play Romeo and Juliet, the doomed romance and untimely suicides of two young lovers torn apart by a feud between their families leaves readers wondering what exactly is responsible. The feud between Romeo’s father, Lord Montague, and Juliet’s father, Lord Capulet is what drives the central tragedy since their long-running animosity and ignorance of its potential consequences introduced
The ability one has to determine their own fate may be justified by his ability to foresee the repercussions of his actions. However, in the case of the play Romeo and Juliet, Shakespeare clearly states at the beginning of the play that the two star-crossed lovers would die by taking their own lives. Even if Romeo and Juliet wanted to run away and make their own fate, Shakespeare's foreshadowed destiny would prevail in making Romeo and Juliet take their own lives. Shakespeare showed the power of fate, even when fate was presented with numerous setbacks, such as the feud between the families that should have prevented Romeo and Juliet from ever becoming lovers, when Romeo got banished for killing Tybalt, and when Lord Capulet arranges Juliet’s marriage to Paris.
Was it fate for Romeo and Juliet? Or Not? In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare the main characters Romeo and Juliet lose their lives because of their love for one another. Their families suffer from a lasting conflict which prevents the lovers from being together. Fate had a greater impact on the characters than personal choice.
In Romeo and Juliet, Romeo Montague, one of the main protagonists of the play, contends with the long rivalry between his family and the Capulets. This feud has lasted long enough where the reason of it has been lost amidst the animosity between the two families. Because of this conflict, it serves as an obstacle for Romeo to be with his love, Juliet, the daughter of the Capulet family. The banishment of Romeo as well as the secret of his and Juliet’s marriage adds more onto the animosity and the conflicts between the families. Romeo, however, manages to take on this feud for the sake of his happiness and to be with Juliet. Romeo’s relationship with the past, or rather his family’s past, is the center focus the play and is both the reason for the conflicts that also lead into the deaths of Romeo and Juliet. Without the feud between the Montagues and Capulets, two of the overall lessons from the play: “love from a few conquers the hate of all” and “take risks for people you love” would not exist. Not only will the lessons won’t have the same meaning, but also the significance of Romeo’s emotions throughout the play would not complement the work to its fullest without the feud.
Fate is major in many stories throughout the world of literature. It is especially important to the play “The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet”. Fate uses many factors and details to interpret the ending of the story. It determines so many events to occur in the future. Fate can be good for the protagonist or fate can be the antagonist.
The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare in 1597 and it is about two teens who fall in love although they come from two rival families. Romeo and Juliet’s hastened love turns into a tragic ending and takes the lives of both lovers and many others. The death of the two main characters is by far the most important scene in the play to show theme and this theme is that extreme conflicts lead to extreme endings. Romeo and Juliet’s death had the biggest impact on the play in showing the theme and this is because of the following four reasons, the first reason is the deaths ended a pointless and ongoing family feud, it brought back peace to the streets of Verona, it unveiled many important secrets,
In the play Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, the characters show how pure intentions can lead to deadly outcomes. When misapplied, the virtuous actions of Romeo, Balthasar, and Friar Lawrence, turn to vice. Misapplied virtues turn to vice when Romeo interferes in Mercutio and Tybalt’s duel, when Balthasar delivers the tragic news of Juliet’s death to Romeo, and when Friar Lawrence agrees to marry Romeo and Juliet.
