Stakeholders involved in this project include the following groups: Town Council for Boone, Watauga County Commissioners, Watauga County constituents, W.K. Dickson Engineering Firm, Ashe County Commissioners, Ashe County constituents, the New River Advocates, Inc. group, the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources (DENR) for the state of North Carolina, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The Town Council of Boone is the central stakeholder seeking to manage other stakeholders to gain approval for the construction of the water intake system. A stakeholder analysis (Table 1) is depicted below.
