Content Source Analysis The Rand Corporation is a research organization that focuses on making communities all around the world more safe and welcoming by providing solutions to policy challenges. It has locations all over the world, including Britain, Australia, and Belgium. RAND is an acronym and stands for research and development. RAND evolved after World War II because it helped connect the military to research decisions. The need for a private organization to discuss research made RAND begin to flourish (About the RAND Corporation). Since then, it has been an independent and nonprofit organization. It was molded by Henry Arnold and scientists in 1946 in Santa Monica, California and still resides there today (Source Watch). This organization titles themselves as non-partisan and its leadership structure and growth supports that. They stay away from political views and focus on objectivity and quality. They reframe from getting involved in political campaigns of any sort (About the RAND Corporation). It is current chairman of the Board of Trustees is Karen Elliott House, a former publisher of The Wall Street Journal and its current president and chief executive officer is Michael D.
