Evidence-base program can be known to overlap in other areas. A continuum evidence-base program helps people understand the program that would be suitable for the population they are trying to serve. While the program was develop specifically for one program it can be used in other areas. For example, the principal of a community after school program wants to show individuals in the community the influence a program will have on preventing bullying. The continuum can be used by the principal to help people understand different characteristics of the program. It can also evaluate the need for the program in order to improve and demonstrate its impact on bullying. Evidence-base program can be used to develop the prevention of bullying
As a beginning point in the selection of an evidence-based program (EBP), it is crucial to distinguish the extent of the EBP. This process has four (4) elements: 1) intended population; 2) intervention target; 3) baseline severity level; and 4) intervention delivery characteristics (Durlak & DuPre, 2008).
The message of harrison bergeron is that total equality isn’t as good as it sounds and should not be the goal like many people think. But physical and mental equality should be what we should be striving for. What makes the story and movie different is in the movie it focuses more on Harrison and how he affects the setting. But in the movie it focuses more on harrison's parents and how the setting affects them. The message vonnegut was trying to make was hope of a possibility that the system will change, the people will come together and take control and the evil will fall. Harrison Bergeron because he wrote it so i think he'd like it more because he puts everything important into it.
Starting at very young ages there are bullies. They develop early and often never grow out of that stage, but rather it just increases with time and age so the crimes become more serious. This is why it is necessary to target children with their unkind or violent tendencies before it gets out of control. Children usually turn into bullies for reasons such as craving attention, wanting power, low self-esteem, inability to control anger, revenge, or even to be popular. Popularity comes to bullies in grade school because students who like and are liked by the bully will most likely not be bothered, so it becomes a safety issue. With this last point especially, it just
The article Asian American Mental Health: What We Know And What We Don't Know by Stanley Sue was about Asian Americans and how they deal with their mental health. There are about 4% of Asians in the United States and because of this small percentage; it is hard for researchers to find people to help conclude their studies. What some have found out is that Asian Americans are offered mental health services but rarely use it. They find other ways such as asking their family for help or making an herbal remedy to help with their sickness. A researcher named Kuo has studies that show Asians are more depressed than Caucasians. According to a researcher named Leong the high depression rate is because Asians have problems with adjusting. I think what these researchers have studied is a great topic but it just needs more information. According to the article since it is such a low population of Asians in America it is hard to find people to do the research on. I think if they keep looking they can get more information about this topic.

Bullying is bound to happen anywhere at any time but occurs mostly within school limits. Kathleen Winkler defines bulling in her book, Bullying, as “...any kind of ongoing physical or verbal mistreatment, done with the intent to harm, where there is an imbalance of power between bully and victim” (Winkler 14). Bullying has an extremely important impact on one’s everyday life and can affect their life negatively getting to the point where they can no longer take the blow. To try and prevent bullying from taking place in schools, one needs to know how bullying effects a person, what the role of each person involved in the situation is, and have knowledge of specific methods on how to prevent it. Bullying in schools is a serious problem and a handful of school do their part to prevent it; others, not as much, which means there is room for improvements.
Concentrated media attention to mass school shootings also shed the light at the bigger picture of students feeling unsafe and unprotected at schools. The research revealed that about 40 percent of the students go through humiliation or bullying in their school years despite school administration efforts to council bullies and victims (Dewey, 2013). Therefore there is a high demand for the anti-bullying program. Olweus Bullying Prevention Program (OBPP) is one of them and focused on creating anti-bullying support, which includes: work and counseling bullies; psychological support and coaching for the victims; special seminars and coaching for the teachers; education for the school administration; community events addressing the issue.
The advantage in using the evidence-base programs give the community better opportunity in getting programs that will work for the community. The evidence-base program would have conduct the research
The PRC has four departments which focused in youth, young adults, adult clients and parents. According, to Kandee all programs played a vital role in the organization. Yet, she shares "the Bullying Prevention and Healthy Relationships program are the most practical ones". As a matter of fact, she shared that “youth have been treated unfairly” and it is why this program is important because it trains teachers, probation officers, youth and parents to identify the warning signs of bullying, and when a person in bullying
Since the traditional approach is only concern about the victims and giving a punitive authoritarian reward to the offenders, restorative approach is design to restore the damage relationship, and reintegrate the both the offenders and the victims back to the community. This approach is concern about two significant things, which are safe school community and behavioural change. This approach helps the offender to acknowledge the wrongdoing and the rate of harm he or she has caused the victims and the community, also to act ‘restoratively’. This approach through pre-conference provides the offender the understanding that he or she had a choice of amendment with the victims and the community, also understanding
3. According to the American Heart Association, “Coronary heart disease is America's No. 1 killer.”
Throughout this paper, I will define Evidence-Based Programs; Discuss questions and their elements used in choosing an appropriate program; Share a continuum that I consider valid; the pro and cons of Evidence-Based Programs; and finally, I will summarize the concept and Evidence-Based Programs and how I propose to utilize it.
Setting in Early Childhood can provide opportunities for educators to stop and prevent the emergence of bullying behavior
Some people in this world consider bullying a normal and a regular thing that kids go through however; according to NoBullying.com, "7 percent of students in the United States have attempted to commit suicide because they have been bullied." Is that normal too? The society that we live in sometimes tries to cover or look the other way when it comes to the topic of bullying however this needs to change quickly. A solution must be found that could help prevent bullying and make every student feel safe and happy.
Experience of being a victim of bullying can finally damage the mental health of students and motivate them to commit school violence. "According to statistics in two-thirds of cases of the recent school shootings, the attackers had previously been bullied" (Sampson, 2009, p.1). For most children learning process itself may already be a daily struggle and being a target for bullying at the same time can become "the straw that broke the camel's back", after which they consider suicide as the only possible solution. "A study in Britain found that at least half of suicides among young people are related to bullying" (Detlor, 2010). So, due to the fact that problem of bullying negatively affects students' learning ability, their health and the entire school climate society should take definite and urgent measures to solve it.
