Lebanon, officially known as the Lebanese Republic, is a sovereign state in western Asia and is

the smallest recognized country on the Asian continent. The countries location, at the

crossroads of the Mediterranean Basin and the Arabian hinterland, has helped to create its rich

history as well as its cultural and religious diversity. Arabic is the official national language.

Literature, art, and music are a major part of the Lebanese culture. The country also

celebrates both Christian and Muslim holidays. Family and business are also a very important
