In local government there is a common trend of officials bending the rules in order to attain a political goal. Therefore, an overlapping concept that lingers in multiple governments is political corruption. Political corruption can be defined as the use of powers by government officials for illegitimate private gain. Like all forms of American government, structure extends in a top down manner within the federal beltway (NY, DC and large players). Consequently, parallel patterns are reflected beyond the beltway, in local authorities where policies are generally practiced. Like centralized federal government, a parallel practice that is generally relevant in smaller government is the political corruption concept of nepotism. What I argue is while corruption is illegal it stems from the root of emotion. Stemming from an emotional agenda, nepotism is a form of illegal political dishonesty that has been reproduced from the earliest of political history to the smallest cities in the US. Not only is nepotism anti-democratic, it is perpetuated in the simplest form, and offers just a moral solution.
So what is Nepotism? Nepotism is can be simply referred to the act of favoritism to a relative family member. It is typically associated in a negative light which runs down to employment, federal work, and other places. In essence, nepotism is everywhere. In politics, it holds no place. However there is reason to believe that patterns of a relative in the field are acts of nepotism.…
