As said in every economics class, the reason every business goes into business is to make money. The same can be said in criminal cases involving businesses. In the majority of cases, executives and people highly ranked in the company tend to bend the numbers in the financial/accounting areas of the business or corporation. They do not do this for fun, but rather to make money. Something needs to be done before corporations really get out of hand.

Corruption is when the Government is bribed by interest groups or corporations so that the bribers’ interests are put forward before the interest of the people. During the Gilded Age corruption in the senate was rampant. According to the political cartoon “The bosses of Senate”- (Progress and Poverty, 324), the corporations were the real entities behind running the Senate. The Senate, as the cartoon shows, is acting only in the interests of the different monopolies that are bribing the senate. However, this does not neccesarily mean that the Government cannot act in the intersts of its own people.

Political corruption is a chain that spans the various countries of the world and they usually occur when government officials abuse their power for personal gain or interest. Very few are those who use or know the term "transparency", being that the power is very easy to corrupt. The political corruption is the misuse of public power that aims to gain some profit or advantage in an illegal way, usually secretly and privately.

And the damages it has done to the polity are astronomical. The menace of corruption leads to slow movement of files in offices, police extortion tollgates and slow traffics on the highways, port congestion, queues at passport offices and gas stations, ghost workers syndrome, election irregularities, among others. Corruption is one of the most common problem in everywhere in the world. Some where its acceptable and some where it crosses the boundary.

Corruption can do many things. It can lead to unstable lifestyles, pollute minds and bring on the downfall of just about anything or anyone. One of the best examples would be from the story, Dorian gray by Oscar Wilde. This story showed a young Dorian living his innocent life, only to be surrounded and influenced by the corrupt society around him and would ultimately lead to his demise. It is not easy to define corruption as a whole. But to narrow it down, corruption is mainly associated with bribery and it takes many forms. Corruption has been a part of human society since the earliest times. Fraud, embezzlement, theft, bribes are all great examples. Corruption has progressively increased and is now just about everywhere in our society, the evil nature of it will only lead to failure and collapse.

Corruption is a lot more prevalent because lack of accountability and regulation in this country. If money that the government receives is going in their pockets rather than being spent on the people who need it, on their education, health and so on, then the consequences are obvious that many people don't pay taxes because they don't trust the government to spend it on the common people, they think they are corrupt and the money would just disappear and so this creates a vicious circle. People don't see the government doing anything to help them, so they think it's a waste of time to pay taxes. The government doesn't get any money from taxes and so can't do anything to help

One of the most pervasive and ironic things about corruption is that is does not have a set definition. This is ironic because anything goes just like what happens in corruption. The most appropriate definition for this context would be it is the abuse of entrusted power for private gain (Transparency International). It affects anybody whose life, livelihood or happiness depends on the integrity of those in places of authority that includes everyone from Policemen and Teachers to Government Officials and Company Executives. Corruption has always existed in different forms, and is not determined by politics or geography. It exists in rich and poor countries alike, it involves both individual States and international organizations and its costs are borne by the citizens. It affects the proper running of governments, distorts the correct functioning of economic and political institutions and hampers transparency, exploits the human person for selfish interests, renders respect for rules obsolete and is a manifestation of structural sin. In our own locality in Kenya, citizens complain about corruption in the high offices but will comfortably cheat each other in the market place. Public transport hikes rates at will without regard to theconsequences on the most vulnerable. Big decisions affecting the citizenry are made at coffee tables in hotel lounges where “lobbying” means financial and political inducement. For every special interest bill that makes its way into parliament, members of Parliament seek to be sensitized in terribly expensive seaside resorts.

Corruption is defined as the misuse of entrusted power for private gain. Corruption comes in many guises but fraud and bribery are the forms that are most rampant and affect the company’s operation and reputation.

With the globalization processing moving head, the corruption has become a global issue especial in developing countries (Council of Europe, 2005). In recent year, Man is facing a corruption which is becoming more and more serious. It is knows that the critical trade of intermediary is money, thus the economic system has been damaged more than other areas. In Africa, some country’s public assets be embezzled approximately $50bn each year. Meanwhile, the multinational enterprise control accounts for 30% of Africa financial capital, the directly consequence make government lose revenue about $14bn each year. The investors are losing confidence at Africa for gap of wealth and unfair competition (Plessis, 2017). This essay will address what cause economic corruption is, and which area been affected. In the end of this essay, I will give the feasible strategies to against economic corruption. The whole essay will be divided into four parts, which are addressed introduction; background; causes and effects on recourse allocation; causes and effects on economic order; feasible corruption fighting plan and evaluate above topics in turn.

The United States’ government is composed of three branches; the legislative, the executive and the judicial branch. Each branch was created for a specific purpose and are regulated by each other. The founding fathers wanted to create a decentralized government and therefore, decided to distribute the government power among all three branches. The distribution of power, they hoped would prevent corruption in the government. For this reason, 39 states hold judicial elections to allow the citizens of the state to determine the next seating judge. In previous years holding a magistrate position was considered one of the most prestige and respected positions within the government. Now these elections have become extremely corrupt and the wellbeing of the people is no longer a priority for many of these individuals.

It undermines development by distorting the rule of law and weakening the institutional foundation on which economic growth depends’’. This paper therefore will mainly focus in administrative corruption in the public sector. The corruption index (CPI) published by Transparency International is used to rank countries according to the level and prevalence of corruption and the said country. . All throughout history one thing that has consistently stayed prominent throughout the world is political corruption. Political corruption can be surveyed as when a ranking government official use their power to make illegitimate gains in their private life. However, to define political corruption would be an illicit act done by an elected official that institutes political corruption if the act is unswervingly correlated to their authorized responsibilities, which is also done beneath the color of law or encompasses trading in influence. Political corruption doesn’t always happen, but it has had a pattern throughout history and is the biggest problem in the world at any given time.
