60 patients who underwent this surgery were assessed with RSDI and endoscopic examination at a minimum of 6 months postoperatively. Results from the study showed a frontal sinus ostium patency of 90% and a significant improvement on quality of life as gauged by the RSDI. This study was both written and conducted by a group of researchers from Tanta University and University of North Carolina, all of whom have medical degrees. It was published in a book called the Annals of Otology, Rhinology, and Laryngology, and was likely peer reviewed. It was also published in 2015, making it up do date and reliable. This article will be useful in judging the success of frontal sinus surgery and can ultimately be used to determine the most effective method of treating rhinosinusitis. (Askar et al.,
